I came across an old bike that I'm trying to find some info on. It's made with columbus tubing, but I don't know the type. It's branded and Cocchi but the is a Ciocc sticker on the NDS chainstay. The fork crown logo is not a Ciocc...It's shield with a C in it. I've tried to search but all I come up with is a bike shop in Italy.
Thanks

It could also be somebody having fun with the Italian language. An Italian would pronounce Cocchi in the same way that an American would pronounce "cocky". Do however be aware that many shops solds third party frames with the shop name on them.

it's probably as CdM says: a contract-built frame sold as a shop's house brand. Looks like a good but fairly generic frame, if the seatpost is 27.2 it's probably SL, if it's smaller it could be Aelle. In any case it will probably be a fine rider, and the Merckx panto'd chainring will ring somebody's bell, if you decide to sell it off.

Agree with the others. Hard to tell from the photo, but that Ciöcc decal doesn't seem to mean anything to me. Is it a vinyl sticker as it appears to be or is it actually under the clear? It's not in any style typical to Ciöcc at that time and nothing I've really seen in my travels.

Reminds me of my former Zullo Special.

I couldn't have been the first to think

could I?

couldn't hurt to see pics of the BB shell, but this is not going to provide a definitive ID for me (unless "Ciocc" is panto'd on it). The frame looks like so many Italian frames of the same era, the panto on the stay caps does look like what Ciocc did on the San Cristobal (for example) but it's also the same as many other builders did, too...in other words: generic. And the caps themselves are just a little different shape than a typical Ciocc. Chroming the entire rear triangle is also something very commonly done by many builders who offered frames with chrome DOs, chainstays, and stay caps. The brands associated with Ciocc include Conti, John, and later Concorde, but if you check the Pellizoli blog you'll see he (or he and his shop) did a lot of contract work for other brands, though he's still a little cagey about naming names. You could always email him and ask, but I'd bet it's a product of a different contract shop. I'm sure it will be a fine rider and you'll have a one-of-a-kind if you keep it "as named".

I just spoke with Giovanni and he doesn't remember that name. I'm sending him the photos from this thread and see what he says!

again, several brands used that style slotted BB shell. not sure what brand shell it was but not something I've seen on any of Pellizoli's frames. still, it's good quality so lends to the idea of this being a good frame from a good shop. you may just have to get used to owning a Cicli Cocchi.
