The Carlton Lives Again

I bought this frame on ebay, painted as is. Supposed to be a late 50s Carlton Flyer, but I don't think its a Flyer. Anyway, put it together with older stuff, but probably not totally 50s. Huret Allvit deraillers with a long cage at the rear, GB bar and stem, Weinmann sidepulls, Nervar triple crank, Lyotard pedals, Sturmey Archer 3-piece high-flange hubs with wingnuts on Rigida 27 inchers, Gyes seat, Minnehaha bag. Haven't ridden it yet, but it was working well in the stand.

It sure does look great! Wonderful work dbakl !

I've got some SA high flange hubs like that I need to clean up, so I'll be ready, in case I get a Carlton like yours for them!

Nicely done. I love the blue housing with the blue paint. That bike looks fantastic around the lugs. Can you take some more lug pron pictures for us?

They're heavy as heck but seem to run smooth and built up normally, except rear is a little larger than a typical high-flange and the front is much smaller, but I made it work.

Yeah. Came that way from ebay seller. I added the stickers more for identification that attempting to restore any particular model.

Thanks all, as you can probably tell, I love this old cr*p. Think I can convince my wife we need an addition on the house to store them all? I'm outta space, and I have a storage unit too!
