I was just curious of the correct name. And, was that a color used mostly during certain years?

I bought this for my wife in 1987. It may have been a leftover from a year or two earlier.

Your talking about the deep brownish/red color that was on some of the mid '80s Limiteds? I think it is simply dark maroon.

Yes some were Japanes, the Tiawanese built. the Limited hopped from being Italian built to japanese then back to japanese then became the Virata in '90. If a limited has Ishawata tubes it is japanese built.

Ok, I just took possesion of the bike. It a Limited, about 1985/86. It has a Dia-Compe/Takagi/SunTour (Cyclone MK II) mix, Ishiwata 022.
I'll take pics of it, before and after and do a seperate thread on it. Probably one in the WIW section too.
The only bad thing is, it's to dang tall for me. Looks to be about a 59cm or 60cm. I can probably ride it it with the seat way down.
There might be a mid 80's Bianchi Limited for trade.

I suspect it is more like an '83/84 as the '85/86 were Columbus framed and came in other colors. great bike though.
