Haha...Thanks. It appears you have fine taste, it’s my size too, and a keeper with a permanent home now.

My friend Dano, the mechanic at Revolution took my Peloton for a test-ride a few weeks ago and came back with a huge smile on his face--it's a sweet, sweet ride. Took my beloved Peloton for a lively, hilly 70-miler in Valley Center on Saturday. Just love riding this bike.

She’s a beauty! I see after market wheel set, handle bars, seat, seat post, and stem, yes? Did you save the originals?
Cool pics!

All this activity on the thread makes me wish I could ride my Peloton, but alas the legs just won't cooperate. I've got a 56cm frame set in good shape that I would love to adopt out to a new loving home that could enjoy it. If anyone is interested, shoot me a pm.

No. Found this frame on Ebay. I gave my original Peloton frame (the one I bought in 86 and raced back then, which was of course built up with 7400, because that's all any of us used back then) to a guy in this thread.
I've compiled a full groupset of NOS/NIB Superbe Pro, but am using that to build up my Look Hinault 753 for l'Eroica to piss off the purists who insist all Look Hinaults be build up with C-Record. Pissing people off with my build choices is a sickness I enjoy having. Any chance you're pissed off about these 7800 components? 8D
I keep this Peloton in my bedroom. It's my primary rider and the first thing I see every morning. It's like a enthusiastic dog that wants me to wake up: We going for a ride this morning? I really think we should go for a ride this morning!

I just got myself a '86 Peloton that someone was trying to turn fixie.... with the tubular wheels! He gave me three sets of wheels with no tubes or tires. I was planning on swapping out for 700c but I am curious. How many of you Peloton riders use the tubular? Is it really that much better? How expensive to maintain?

Dang! An '84! And in the best size!

Fine, I'll add my '85 to this thread. They only did make these bikes for three model years after all.

Hmm... difficult to tell from the picture. Did you cut off the derailleur hanger?
What kind of mileage are you putting in?
How long have you had her?
If you cut off the head badge or derailleur hanger, my friend, you are entering a world of pain.

Just kidding. She's a beauty. Ride her safely and post more pics from scenic rides.

Nope just stripped the paint (which was very ratty and covered in ratty stickers ) don't know why the quality came out so low in that pic. FYI, under 17lbs like that and she flies

Please add me to the registry

Bought an ‘86 Peloton which seems like it will be a very good fit. Not sure how Schwinn measures their frames but this one is 59.25 seat tube c-c and 57cm top tube, which is fairly short - good for me.

Anyone know more about the frame/fork? The steerer tube is Tange with internal ridges and I thought I saw somewhere that the blades were Columbus. Is the frame all SL/SP?

(correction - steerer tube is stamped Tange but has 5 helical ridges, which apparently is Columbus. Tange made a steerer with ridges in the steerer but there were 6 wider ones, not 5. still curious about the stays of the frame - are they Columbus?) The frame/fork is definitely a little heavier than my Torelli 59cm Tre tubi SL frame by about 1/2 lb, but might fit better. Must be the SP downtube.
