First setback on colnago build
Seller told me it was a 27.2 seatpost fellow c&v member sold me a great post and it's just a hair to big, guess I shouldve measured
|
Shawn... How close? Can you hone the ST, or will it need to be reamed??

I could force it
In but it would be super tight. Seems like maybe a 27 would fit but when I measured it was closer to 25.4 |
Most or all steel colnagos should be 27.2 afaik

Yeah , here's where I feel stupid, after I painted the frame I didn't want to clamp the frame on my repair stand. So I carved down a piece of a broom handle, so when I tightened it down on the wood it made it to small for my post. Good news
Is I figured it out and my new post fits. |
25.4??:twitchy: that's way smaller than what most expect on a Colnago. That's even smaller than most French C&V steel bikes and close to like Vitus Aluminum bike territory.... What kind of frame tubing does it have??
I suspect a crushed/overtightened lug clamp......or maybe even a seat post tube shim sleeve, but that would be really easy to spot...... Chombi |
steel ftw!
..and wishing you similar luck on your "next" setback! ;) |

Yeah,I'm the painter

In my experience, 27.0 for a Colnago is not unheard of. But seatpost reaming is indeed usually the culprit.
|
It's fine now it's a 27.2 I pinched it to tight on a makeshift post that was a little to small.

i once buttoned the top button on my dress shirt to the SECOND button hole. like your seatpost, the shirt didn't fit right. and couldn't get the tie on straight either! |
A colnago that I momentarily owned had a 26.8 seatpost.
