Centurion Accordo?
 

I found clean Centurion Accordo, and I'm not really that familiar with the model. it appears to be all original, lower miles and very clean. I'm guessing a mid-late 80's model, since it has a uni-crown fork and minimal lug work. Components are Shimano, and look like something Exage-ish.

The seller has had it for sale a few months and keeps lowering the price. It's now down to $165. Think its a good deal for the money? The geometry appears to be semi-race oriented with a short rear-end.

What kind of materials were these made out of?

I believe that the Accordos had a blend of Tange 2 in the main triangle and Hi-Ten for the stays and fork.

They are more on the sport-touring side and were lower in the line up.

165 isn't bad at all if it's in good condition. It'd make a good workhorse.

I just bought one of these two days ago, I got it for $75 through Craigslist, it needs tires and that's it...traced it down to a 1986, it's hard tracking the years on these things though, I finally scoured through the Centurion serial number database here on the forums to get that info. Mine has the Shimano "Light Action" RD and Sugino VP crank, double butted tubing, (mine says " made in Taiwan...lower end model for sure but the price was very good for my location.

The ones I have seen were Tange 5 or similar (much lower grade unfortunately). I had two recently, one was Tange 5, the other was Tange 900. Like most bikes, they varied every year, so you will know what the one you are considering is constructed out of once you inspect the bike.

Yep, 1983 Accordo I had was Tange 5 straight gauge, 1985 was Tange 900 DB (quite a bit better).

Not too familiar with the tange lineup. Listen to this... I was guesstimating :P

I'll second that! I think for the price, I'm going to pass on this one. I feel like eventually I'll find something that may be a bit more expensive, but will be a substantially nicer bike overall.

I was just looking at one in the same color scheme as echo2011's up for $100 in Bellingham, WA. Can't really gauge the condition from photos, so maybe not worth a trip from Vancouver...looks like a decent bike, though, and Centurion has a rep for not having sold any real junk.

WAIT A MINUTE: that IS the one I was looking at in echo2011's cel phone pic up there. Same size, components...and the tape, the pedals and "pictured tires not included" are the giveaway. Talked down to $75 and it looks pretty clean. Good show.

Yep, that's the one...small world! I actually went to buy a wheel set from the bike for $50, the guy said he would toss in the bike for another $25...what could I say? :p
