Asheville, NC facilitator?
Is there anyone in western NC - Asheville area that could facilitate a CL bike purchase? Shipping to the Raleigh area.
Please PM me if you are available. Thanks! |
try wrk101, he sometimes makes the trip, or norskagent, as he does, too.

Unfortunately, I am on my way to CA. There are a couple of more BF members here, Pure bikes is in Asheville.
Are you interested in that Carlton? It looks pretty sweet to me. |
Listed in Asheville, NC craigslist, but it looks like the bike is located in Hayesville, NC which is quite a bit further west than Asheville. I would consider driving up there and seeing if the seller would meet you in Asheville or Sylva. Use the trip as an excuse to ride the parkway with a bonus bike to bring back!

Thanks for the responses. That Carlton is nice, but too big for me. I was looking at the Ritchey - I have a soft spot for overpriced vintage MTBs. I talked the wife into a mountain weekend getaway. Looks like the bike just got a little more expensive.

Stop off for some beer in Asheville. That'll make it worth your while.

I saw that Ritchey, I don't know the mtn. bike market but it's bound to be a nice bike.
Be sure to stop by Hearn's cyclery downtown, either before or after a visit to the thirsty monk! I'll actually be up there this weekend but the car will be packed. Bringing the merckx for some parkway riding. |
I was going to jump on that but it is to big for me. Not a bad ride from Concord NC if it was my size.

Be sure to stop by First Flight Bikes in Statesville and check out their massive vintage MTB collection. :)

The Biltmore is worth the side trip if you haven't been there before. They charge extra for a bike pass to ride in the estate, they prefer MTBs, but I did it on my Trek 520, no problem. Depending on the time of year, a lot of the Parkway will be closed. Now someone needs to go get that Carlton. I didn't realize Hayesville is way out there, that probably is why it has not sold. |
I miss Asheville I wish I could go back and visit sometime.

My advice would be to skip Hearns. They have really changed.
