Raleigh Reynolds 753 Campagnolo C Record ID needed

Hi,
I've came across a Raleigh for sale and i can't workout which model it is.
I have found a photo of another Raleigh with the same colours and groupset but the one i'm interested in is a lugged frame with the chainstay on the drive side in chrome. The photo i'm showing is a Dynatech one.
Any help is appreciated!

Thanks
Dave

In the mid to late 80s the Raleigh Team Professional came in Panasonic Team colors which kind of looks like the colors in the picture. Check the serial number. If it starts with SB it is a RTP.

If it has chrome it is most likely not 753. Reynolds did not recommend chroming 753 and AFAIK Raleigh adhered to that.

That explains why i couldn't find photos of team professionals in that colour then.
Someone must of put the wrong stickers on at some point.
Shame, it had the nice delta brakes on it.

I've just been for another look and there is no SB serial number.

The Bottom Bracket has Cinelli stamped underneath and CA on one side then 190 plus three other letters that i've forgot.

Just remember alot of us French market Raleigh let alone a French Raleigh at this level. If that is a 59 or 60 and under $500 USD buy it and send it to me.

It is always possible that it is a rebranded team bike, although had that gotten out Raleigh would be very embarassed, like our famous Huffy 7/11 bikes built by serotta or yamaguchi

looks great though

Ok found out some more info!

This bike was made by Andre Armel and Maxi sports. They were makers for the Castorama professional race team.
Castorama team rode Raleigh named bikes made by Maxi sports and Andre Armel just outside of Paris.
This particular bike was for a customer who made a special order for a full replica team bike.
The seller wants 500 euros for this bike.

Two things though!
This one has the drive side chainstay in chrome and i haven't managed to find another like that.
Maybe this was a special request?
Also i don't know if it is Reynolds 753 or not! I weighed the bike and it was roughly 10 kilos.
I think that is 22 pounds.

Also the Castorama part was from my investigations but it could be Team Super U even.

A 753 framed bike at 22 pounds sounds a bit on the slightly heavy side, but may not be surprising if it's sporting those heavy Delta brakes.

My Merckx is 753 with c-record and Deltas. It weighs around 23 pounds.

Record C group is darn heavy to start with so a bike around 10kg it might be right, specially if using those clinchers.

Second, there is a chance for you to post a picture of the whole bike??? the picture means nothing and is hard to know what you have in there.

The little bit i can see in the picture looks like columbus lugs, doesnt mean is not reynolds tho but IMO and as somebody said, big chance the bike is not 753 and is or columbus or even Vitus tubing since was made in france.

For 500 euros the whole bike is not a bad price at all IMO, but again, w/o seeing the whole bike is hard to know what u have in there, so you could have a touring bike with record c or a racing geometry bike, big difference between them tho.

Hope you post more pictures.

You mean a Columbus fork crown. Those are Bocama Competition 83 lugs.

Hi sorry i haven't got a full shot of the bike.
But it is a reproduction race bike and so it isn't touring geometry.
It is the same as this bike.

Sounds like a nice bike and a good deal to me. Unless it is cracked, rusted or whatsoever of course.

Sorry to bump an old thread, I have the same bike than you but with a vitus aluminium fork and also 14 campy record groupset. It is indeed made of reynolds 753 tubing and mine hasn't any chrome on its stays

Bought it from a roadbike racer back in 2005 for something like 250€.
