What colour and which tires on this?

So, I've decided to re-build this bike:

Randyjawa is being really great (answering all my stupid questions) and is supplying me with most of the components - mainly Shimano 600 Arabesque (crankset, RD, FD, hubs) and is building a 700c wheelset for me. I can't wait!

Another bike guy I know is procuring a honey Brooks Flyer S for me while he's in the UK and I will be putting natural coloured cork grips on (love the feeling of cork).

So - which tires should I put on and what will both fit and look good? I am kinda leaning towards cream coloured, but what are my options here? Will Delta Cruisers fit? will cream look naff? If not cream, then what? brown? gumwall? black?

I'll be ditching the basket, but the rack will probably stay (eventually to be upgraded to something prettier).

cream would work for sure

Hey rookgirl, cream tires would look great on this bike atmo. Also, you might consider Delta Cruisers in brown! That would go fabulously with the maroon on your bike. For a rack, I am a huge fan of the Nitto racks and have one on my 1984 Davidson tandem. While I think a Nitto Big Back Rack might be overkill , a Nitto R-14 or Nitto Mt-Campee would like pretty nice on that bike.

fixation tires. the brown and white ones, the white discolours to a kind of cream colour pretty quick.

I love the cream tire idea. I've never seen the brown delta cruisers- I have to check those out! How awesome that you are getting so much forum help- yay Randy!

Wow. I've never seen the brown Delta Cruisers either. That sounds nice!

Personally I think you should just stay with a tan skinwall.

Also - what colour cable housing??

+1...and black housings.

Jagwire gold braided housing, and Fyxation Session brown/cream tires.

+ 1 on the jagwire gold medal housing. I love that stuff. I vote for girlie cream tires though. Skin walls and black housing would be handsome, but they would be handsome.

If you go with brown tires, go with brown cable housing. There's a bike at the LBS that has a beautiful maroon framed bike with brown tires and brown housings. It's a real headturner!

wow. brown!! I'd never have thought of it!

Are these fyxtation tires any good? Puncture resistant? This'll be a daily commuter.
