Very nicely modernized (green bikes always get a thumbs up from me,) but that stem is tough to love. Did you use that to take advantage of the rise, or was it just what you had on hand?

Eye of the beholder I suppose, and some people would also say the brake levers are ugly. I use those levers and I know how well they work, so they don't look bad to me. The same thing is probably true of the stem - if I used that stem and liked it, the aesthetics would take a back seat.

Overall though, it looks great, and it's probably much more comfortable now.

Don't worry about your stem, all the guys here have a hangup about how their stem looks and how high it goes or doesn't go.

Nice looking bike. I think Takara is a bit underrated isn't it? I think they used to have some nice bikes.. I mean nothing like a NR eqipped Paramount or the beloved PX10 but they did have a few nice rides correct? I seem to recall a Junior I rode whith who had a late '80s festooned w/ 600

I think it's a sharp looking bike! Well done! (But then again, I am very partial to older bikes that have been frankensteined)
