I picked up this Sintesi today. I don't know what year it is but am guessing late '90s. It has Neuron frameset and 9 speed Record groupset.

I have read the lounge posts for years and at last got around to moving things in my basement, look what I found! I bought it new in late 87 or earlie 88. Black Marble Super Prestige SLX with full Dura Ace 7400. I last rode it on a challenge ride about six years ago. I amost sold it once and know that would have been a mistake.

Wow, I should dig around in my basement.

That's a real beauty.

Bikes: How'd I get this many?

Liked 1 Time in 1 Post
Oh boy, the changes I've been wanting to make to my Tommasini for a few years are done. Very exciting! Biggest swap was a new wheelset, Ambrosio Excellence rims to my Record hubs. Also put some new pads on my Delta brakes and recabled it, first time since I've owned it. Riding quality is even better. And got a new stem for a very kind member of this board.

Looks and rides wonderfully. Had a pro photographer pal take some photos last week, I'll have to post some here.

Hello all....newbie to the forum here...name is Jeff and I'm in Portland Oregon. I'm taking delivery of a 1999 Sintesi later this week and am totally excited about it. I will be making some changes for sure from its current state and will keep you all posted with the build and final finish. Hope to get to know everyone before too long!

Thank you so much! A lot of work went into this restoration, but the colors were kept exactly as it was out of the factory :+) A lot of credit to Tommasini for their artistic creations. As soon as I saw this come out of an Italian guys attic, I knew it was for me.

Here is a late '80s Super Prestige I picked up back in July. I haven't taken it on it's maiden voyage yet. It has to wait it's turn.

Hi all.....I'm in search of a threaded Tommasini air fork (my sintesi currently has a threadless and I want to convert to a quill stem!), and I also am looking for Campy Record silver hubs (32) as the bike currently has mavic open pro's with ultegra drivetrain and I am changing to Campy Athena 11 silver and would love to use Campy record silver hubs...if I can't find them I'll use White Industries.....going to use Ambrosio Nemesis rims with silver Sapim spokes...Would appreciate any help you can all provide!

ADDENDUM: While I've located the Campy Record silver hugs in 32 so all good on that front; and have found a decent source for a threaded air fork so I think I'm all good. Once I get the bike upgraded I will throw up some pics for you all. Here is how the bike looks at this point in time....stay tuned!

This is my new to me Tommasini Tecno Extra. Columbus Genius differential tubes. The seat tube is round, the others are shaped. Mostly tig welded. The parts were moved over from another bike so I can ride it until I work out what will be more permanent. I think it needs mostly shiny silver but my issue is I can't really use Campy Ergo shifters anymore with arthritis in my right thumb. It may be Shimano shifters with some Campy??

It will be 10 or 11 speed and I don't see any Shimano cranks that will fit the bill for shiny silver. Any suggestions are welcome. 25 miles this morning. The ride is pretty sweet. Stiff where it needs to be but still very comfortable.

Thanks.

Twice after I bought it.

It came with a well loved mix of 600 and DA.

Stripped it and on went 9 speed Chorus.

Was awesome.

Stripped again and on went Ultegra 6800.

Was awesome.

Sitting unbuilt atm, as a buddy used the 6800 on his Warbird ti.

I have a nice Record groupset I just received in a trade for a cyclocross wheelset that would look outstanding on here.

It is one of the better handling framesets I have owned.

Can't imagine why no one has bought it then.....price is not inexpensive, but it is a Tommy after all and quite nice. A wee bit on the large side for me......if its been on there forever then a decent offer would most likely get it!

I don't know about that offer bizness.

I've heard that people have tried and the cat was firm on $$$.

I am thinking of going with 6800. Would you say that group looked good on your frame? Do you have a photo of that set up?
