I think so,,,I am tall but take a low standover around 31,, 32 and this one is 31.5. I have not actually seen this bike in person yet and only had several lower rez photos to go by. Hope to pick it up today but weather says "maybe not".

Yeah, only guy to buy a bike when freezing rain and snow and now minus zero temps are normal .

That's one thing I don't get about old bikes. Why do they have such tall seat tubes compared to the top tube?? So annoying.

It makes the TT parallel to the ground. That looks right. It also provided a frame of reference for the ST and HT angles.

A different question might be why do modern manufacturers us sloping TT's? The TT and ST are marginally shorter that way but the seat post length has to make up for the lost ST length, and the upper section of the ST has to be strong enough to hold the extra leverage of the longer seat post. Shaping a frame from formable CF allows builders to play games with thickness and shape of all the tubes, and in fact the identity of the tubes is blurred in modern frames. It ultimately comes down to a few ounces (or grams) saved here and there plus the ability to tailor the frame's deformation over bumps.

They still look geeky, no, make that odd, to those of use used to the style element of a horizontal TT.

Obviously, its the best time to buy. Look at the crazy good deal you got!

Checked out e bay, and I don't see a Prestige going for less than $1400. Nice...

Could be a nice project for someone.

FWIW Forum member Chrome Molly built my Sintesi from parts on hand.

Loads of inexpensive fun.

Rides beautifully.

@teisco ......I think you did VERY well for $600! I trust you'll be anxious to get it on the road when the weather clears. If it is any consolation, I'm looking out the window at ~15" of snow and it still coming down. My exercise today will be on the dumb end of a snow shovel. Ugh.

Gah, so jealous. If I could pick one that'd be it. You did really well. Where at in Iowa did you find it exactly?

Waterloo Iowa,,,was on Facebook under garage sales. Funny cause I look in the Bike section every day and just saw this ad by accidentally opening the garage sales section.

I have a question for you "T" guys; this bike has updated parts so would I be better off collector wise to try to find original handlebars and steam and wheels or is it good as is? One thing I want is some pedals (anyone have any?) And a bike trainer for this winter to practice shifting and such.

Nice find.
Collector wise: I wouldn't bother, use what's on there. It's likely better than what came on it originally anyway.
Pedals: Which pedals are you looking for exactly?
A trainer would be good for an Iowa winter. Just be really sure to cover up the bike to protect it from your sweat. Steel, aluminum, and sweat do NOT mix.

Thanks,,,the pedals that are on there are clip on style..I want more of a standard pedal for casual riding...see pic.

Guys I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but yesterday I rode the Diamante down through the Basin here in San Antonio. Its a green belt area and the temp was perfect, the sunlight was perfect and that bike was just right. I could feel the steel flex and absorbs the bumps etc. I even closed my eyes to experience just how wonderfully the bike moves. Gotta love Irio Tommasini. Thanks

Unless they are French they are most certainly the standard 9/16" thread, left-handed threads on the left pedal, removed with a 15mm wrench and maybe a hex wrench on the inside surface too. They should be marked R and L. French pedals are marked D and G. You can remove them and try something easily enough.

Oh, I gotta try this, something has to explain why after picking up a Tecno a couple years ago I have added a Diamonte and a Prestige, all of which are getting much more than their fair share of riding time.

My 2014 Tecno right after I finished it, so does not exactly fit the bill of retro.
The orange bar tape was an experiment and is long gone.

Came across this Tommasini step through (Donna?) for sale on Gumtree (like the Australian version of Craigslist.)

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/pake...ike/1225854692

Doesn't appear to be much info online - anyone know much about them? I'm wondering if it was called something other than Donna. I know Pinarello did a step through called Donna, seems unlikely Tommasini would use the same model name, (or vise versa if Tommasini was first.)
