Shimano 600 brake parts quandry

Im putting my Super Le Tour 12.2 back together and have a small problem. Pictured below are two rear brake calipers. The one on the right is the style I need. The one on the left is the one I bought to replace it. I wont work and I really dont want to steal the missing knurled nut from the new one. I have searched high and low for one of these nuts to no avail. The question is this, are those nuts the same across a large swath of Shimano brakes? If so that would mean I could buy the cheapest brake I can find.

In my experience, yes, they're interchangeable among different Shimano brake calipers.

I just ran out to the garage. There's 5 Shimano calipers in my buckets o' parts (4 similar to your left-hand one, 1 dual-pivot) and they all have the 12-point nut that you're missing. You can get just about any Shimano caliper (even a dual-pivot) and strip it for parts.
