Lightweight frame

Hello,
I have bought a CHESINI frame, probably dating from circa 1983. The decals are slightly torn and faded as you would expect if it's been used and in the sun for long periods.
It is possible to make out that Columbus tubing was used for the frame and forks.
The frame and forks feel light in weight [by my standards], the total weight is 2.43kg as near as I can weigh it on domestic scales. In my ignorance, is this about standard weight for a frame of this period; without a headset and bottom bracket ?
The braze-ons for the twin down tube shifters are not brazed directly on to the down tube, they are brazed on to a small vertical pillar which is brazed on top of the down tube. There are two holes for the cables to go down the inside of the down tube, across the bottom inside bottom bracket - there's a finned aluminium sleeve to locate the cables. The rear cable goes inside the chain stay and exits at the rear drop-out, parallel to the drop-out The front cable exits at the back of the bottom bracket.
What fun time I'm going to have routing both cables !
Any suggestions please ? Thank you.

Sounds cool...a little bit of aero attempt.

I really like my '92 Chesini Innovation.

Post a pic or two so we can have a better look.

Are you positive there are no internal tubes for the cables???
The DT boss take the Shimano aero style shifters...

That weight sounds about right for Columbus SP (or equivalent) tubing. See https://https://desperadocycles.com/Lo...On_Tubing.html

SL framesets were spec'd at under 2 kg.

Pics are required!

I have not had the chance to take any photos but the frame is eBay item no. 280852895055.
I have cleand and polished the frame and forks and touched-in the missing paint. It looks totally different now and it is too good to strip and repaint, in my opinion.
I have an idea that the model name might be Criterium, with SL tubing ?
The frame itself weighed 1.9kg, the forks were 0.53kg.
Thanks for your interest.

The model name is one the headtube...'Precision'.

Depending on the year, I believe it would be either SL or SLX.

The BB shell cutout looks wrong...I think someone enlarged that, should have been a 'C', I think.

I'm sure it will be a very nice rider...

Hello, the cut out on the bottom bracket is the original shape for this frame. It is this shape so that you can fit new cables and grease them.
It is required so that you can put the two derailleur cables in. If you've ever tried to do this yourself, you will realise that as far as I'm concerned there's only one way to do it ! What you don't do is slot new cables in right through the frame from the shifters to the outlet points, without the sleeve first in place in the bottom bracket. If you do, the Aluminium sleeve just won't go in !
If you want to know how to do it - and it's not easy, let me know. I will either explain it on here, or by email, neither with expletives !

Hello, I have confirmed on VeloBase that the frame that I have is a Chesini Arena and that as I suspected, the shape of the cut-out on the underside of the bottom bracket is original and not a modified C. There are photographs to confirm.
Others with a similar Chesini frame have mentioned a Campagnolo [Super Record] headset been correct and appropriate. Unfortunately, the steerer tube is approximately 3mm too long !
