Specialized Hardrock Ultra Help
I just bought a 90's Hardrock Ultra from craigslist for $80. I can't seem to find much solid information on it. Seems to be in decent shape for it's age and I didn't pay that much for it.
I want to get back into decent shape and maybe ride some light trails here and there with some friends on occasion.
I'm scouring Bikepedia and based on the silver color, it seems to be a 96, but none of the other specs seem to match.
I'm not knowledgeable about bikes but from the components I saw, it has:
SR Suntour cranks
Acera X front derailleur
Shimano rear derailleur (just says SIS)
Pro Max brakes
C-Star Brake Levers
Sram Gripshift Max shifters
It also has a 6 gear cluster on the back (probably a freewheel) and everything I read suggest that it should have at least a 7 spd cassette? I don't want to drop too much money on it, but I'd like to change the shifters to triggers or quickshifters (whatever they're called)...but I think the 6 spd cog may make that tough?
Basically my question is did they make different versions of the ultra? What bikepedia lists and the one I have? A lower end model?
Sorry for the low quality pictures, they're from my cell phone.
