So I followed a hunch on an ad today and it turned out rather nicely. An ad with no real qualities, details and two awful cellphone photos. You know the score. All I could make out was a fuzzy heart in the background on a derailleur and what looked like a pair of track pedals on a dull brown basement bike.

So, this is what it turned out to be:

It's a repainted Columbus SL or SLX frame (so say the stickers) and in gorgeous condition with a mix of parts all of which (except the headset locknut) are in absolutely stunning condition. The dropouts are C.B.T Italia, I figure it's likely a C.B.T Italia frame on the whole that's been repainted and rebranded L.Florquin (I assume here we're talking Lucien Florquin who has a shop here in Paris).

It's a lovely brown (not sure how well the pictures do justice to it) with some lovely lugs too.



The Ofmega headset though is in a state of some distress

The rear wheel though has a hub I don't recognise, and the Campagnolo logo is upside down unless I've completely gone mad.



More Nuovo Record and some Specialités TA - Tevano chainrings and bottle holder



Pista pedals and Christophe toe clips, the straps I dunno yet



A little out of place - drillium Dura Ace shifters



Galli brakes (and levers)





Cinelli & ITM up front, also it's also got a nice mint Huret cyclometer, a Cinelli Unicanitor saddle and some spare tubs too.



Gotta say, pretty happy with this find.

BTW, the Campy logo is not upside down on the hub.

The saddle pic shows a little something more than Nuovo Record: that's actually a first-generation Super Record seatpost. Nice find overall - and I for one love the color, too.

Nice parts and in nice condition, too; I bet it went for a song because of the crappy cell-phone pics

Pretty sure it is. You should be able to read the logo while standing behind the bike, it's clearly upside down. If it were a front hub, you could just flip it, but a rear only has the freewheel threads in the one side obviously. Very strange, never seen that before.

That's a very, very nice bike - the kind of frame I get jazzed about. The lower headlug is very nicely shaped and thinned. Looks like it has long Campagnolo dropouts - if so, almost certainly SL and pre-dating SLX (1984). I like it a lot!

That's what struck me as well. Any idea of what those are worth in today's market?

^ They're going well over $100 on Ebay in the 27.2mm size range - depending on condition, past $150.

I've only got the one, a 26.4mm, in the Mondia. They're pretty light compared to NR - they were milled with a thinner post wall, and the hardware mounting post was drilled all the way through.

I've just been going through part by part working out just what everything is and came across the same thing. A very nice find! I've not checked in the frame yet but what's visible above is in great condition.

I've a full first set of photos here.

Some other part details - the brakes are Galli Criterium/Super Criterium. The chain is from Sedis. The freewheel is most likely a Maillard Course, but has far more cutout from the big cogs than on one I had on an earlier Super Record bike. The stem is a quite lovely, and on a Cinelli bar - a quick go with the calipers reads 26.2mm around the bar, so that's possibly a non-Cinelli 26.4mm stem. I'll double check tomorrow, and it's not been forced.

great find, I like the lug work and campagnolo components. The crankset and chainrings look especially nice. Have you had a chance to ride it yet?

Not yet, I must have misunderstood the guy as I thought he said the tires were bust so I didn't try to pump them until I got home for photos, but they appear to be holding air so there we go.. It's totally not my size but I'll give it a run around soon to make sure its as good as it looks

yes, ITM and some other Italian stem/bar makers went with the "Cinelli standard" of 26.4 until they decided to create the "Italian, not Cinelli standard" of 26.0, which then Cinelli finally accepted, later. Those old-logo bars are certainly 26.4
Since it's a 27.2 Columbus seat tube we're talking non-metric Columbus tubing, so even though it's "from France" it's really Italian...is the BB Ital threaded (36 x 24)?

Still trying to work out still quite what the rear hub is all about, it's not just that the rear shield emblem is upside down but there's a minor ridge around the insides of the flanges below the spoke holes that I can't match against other hub photos I can find.



So far I've found some minor (really minor) info near the bottom of the page over at Hi Campy where they've come across the same hub but not much light is shed yet.
