If you could only keep one bike- - which one would it be?

If you could only keep one bike (possibly some of you are already there) - - which one would it be?
Let's see it!

For me, it would likely be my '74 Motobecane Grand Touring.
It's not my best looking bike, nor the most valuable, rarest, best condition, or best rider.
It's just a high-ten bike and it doesn't even fit me all that well, and there is no real sentimentality about it - yet it's the one I think I would keep if I had to divest myself of all the others.

That is a challenging one. I would keep my Raleigh Pro and second choice my 72 Fuji Finest. Actually, I changed my mind; I would keep them all!

Flash :-)

For me, it would have to be the Trek 600. Great bike!

I know it's a challenging question - but just imagine that "all" is not an option and then post the pic!

It's kind of interesting that your Trek 600 is not probably not your most valuable bike either, Bikeman (knowing your stable as I do).
I think your choice fits you well though.

I'll get back to you on this one...

Since the bike would have to fill most of my needs which include; commuting, touring, towing, and taking leisurely road rides that eliminates a bunch that might go faster or look prettier and leaves me with the bike that has been with me the longest.

She has been such a good steed for such a long time and I looked long and hard to find her.

But...I did!

I chose one to ride and one to look at :)

This is a cruel thread, anyway! Only one bike?

A pox on you, mister ;)

Attaboy, Sixty. The only problem is that "one less car" sticker. You know we don't take kindly to that in the Motor City! ;)

Thank you, DD. I shall rally the mob. Here's my one and only to look at in addition to my '61 Paramount :D

Uh. Crap. Uhm. Not possible. I think 3 would be the only realistic number I could get down to, and that wouldn't be easy either. I tour, I commute, I ride with my kids, I do fast rides in the mountains, I ride offload on single track. I've even raced cross though I haven't in two years. I really don't drive my car anymore. There isn't one bike that does those things very well. So it's not a realistic question for me.

No way, Jose.
Your Superior is my wallpaper, but you made your choice - it's the killer Paramount. No mob rule here.:p

What if I give you 50% stake in its ownership? Care to bend the rules then?

Alas, it wouldn't be C&V.

You have my blessings to post non-drive side photos. :thumb:

fietsbob 05-02-12 10:52 PM

Only 1 C&V bike ?, OK I can still use the non classics, too,:innocent:
Like my Bike Friday.. [I ride it the most these days]

and the weird one I ride when the road has a layer of Ice on it.

4Rings6Stars 05-02-12 10:55 PM

Indy Fab.

But holiday76 is right, I couldn't do it. Three I could do: IF, mtn bike, Soma DC. I think I would actually be happier with just three. Okay maybe four...the MXL isn't going anywhere.

Doohickie 05-02-12 10:57 PM

Only one? I guess it would have to be one that's just barely C&V (if at all). My 1994 Nishiki Sport XRS. For the same reasons Sixty cited; this bike can do it all.
