Thanks! I hadn't seen that yet. I do wonder about the "special treatment" though.

On a whim, I shared this link with a few people who do not bike, who know I do at some level or another in our friendship and the reactions I am getting are very surprising to me. I guess I have always been a bit of mechanic, engineer or gearhead and pretty much knew all this stuff by the time I was in my teens. By then I had used a lot of this equipment in the film even, but these people I shared this clip with grew up differently. Thank you very much for finding and posting it, it has been enjoyed by several friends more than I would have thought, it is just something so far out of their experience that they are eating it up.

Be more specific? I'm curious about their reactions.

The procedure to create the bottom bracket got the most comments, they did not realize it was one piece assuming that it was all stuck together somehow. In general they were all amazed at how much work went into shaping the metal for a bike, perhaps they wondered if one machine just "chomped" it out of a flat piece of steel? And then someone screwed on the other bits also spit out by another machine? The extra grinding and cutting to prepare a piece like the crank arm or chainring was surprising to them. They wondered why the classic triangle wasn't bolted together like the seatstays in the video. At least two did not realize frame tubes were hollow, they thought they were solid steel all the way through.

They all thought it was a beautiful bike.

this one is almost as good. checkout the complicated machines and how the men move the wire through the presses.

I loved the power line video! Also saw "Piccadilly Circus" and "They Live Again".

On an unrelated topic: Why won't my wife go with me to the movies?
