I have a question about painting. I have seen a product called Rust Converter says it turns rust into a paintable primer. Anyone know if this is good to use.

After stripping the frame the s/n came up as V8175 and the fork is also stamped V8175 it is now primed and when I get a chance I will paint it. also it became obvious that the fork and stays were chromed about 1/3 the way from the dropouts.

Not to bump this thread up needlessly, but the HB stamping is no indication of the builder. I've been able to source an unused, pressed bottom bracket shell bearing the same HB stamping:

That seat stay attachment could be Ron Cooper, Condor, Mercian.

Thanks your the first to have info for the HB, The serial no. is more in line with Condor without the HB

I've taken some pics of the frame I"ve been trying to paint it and am having a lot of problems with the white that is holding up everything.
