Alan build may 1980 but what model is it

Finally no more than 2 hours in my posession my 1st Alan.

It's all equipped with shimi 600 arabesqe, but with campa record hubs.
Mavic Module E rims.

I bought it from the 2nd owner who put just about zero miles on it and knew the first owner who must have looked at it more than riding it

It's all original and more importantly at least for me all authentic only for the barstem wich he (1st owner) had it fitted from new.

The fluted/engraved seatpost is campa and looks stunning and i would like to know if a cinelli engraved barstem was avialible (as cinelli champione del monde shield logo bar is mounted). I believe the alan engraved barstem was made by 3 TTT.
Any help on this one is much appreaciated in what i can do to keep in authentic.
Or what kind of barstem would (probebly) have been mounted if the 1st owner would het gone the standard way.

Bike has been delivered by a well known dutch shop van herwerden in voorburg near the hague.

I'm tremendous pleased with this one for all good reasons.

On the seatlug it say's alan580 so it must be a may 1980 produced model, but what model is it?

It has the round forkblades.

And near the shifters am i missing a decal there?

Super record, top of the line model. I got ne of those as well, from 1979, in blue. Great ride. I'm stinking yealous of that panto seatpost! The stems pop up from time to time in the classifieds, as well as panto chainrings.

Btw, I build mine up with second generation campagnolo super record (pat. 83 instead of 79, don't tell anyone) and period correct Cinelli 1a/giro d'Italia bars in 38 cm (vety comfortable). Two bolt nuovo record seat post in 25 mm, with a cinelli unicanitor saddle. Record pedals with christophe toeclips, period ok but I'd like to mount a set of the alloy caged campa pedals, for extra weight weenieism. I have a set of record hubs that needs some light clincher rims, but for now I'm training on croce d'aune hubs on mavic rims.

I agree with the Super Record model. Interestingly enough, I built up an early eighties ALAN Super Record, using all Shimano 600 Arabesque components. The bike was a sight to behold (my opinion) and offered a very nice ride quality. It was one of the few vintage bicycle, I have owned, that came in under the 20lb mark...

Good lord and i was under the impression that the bolted seatstays where the low end modelframe .....

Wow this has to sink in for a moment to be honest.

Shouldn't there be decals on the top bar for the super record model?

I'm now surely gonna seek a panto'd stem of have one engraved.

Believe it or not, but the saddle was all the way down (this way it was advertised on the net) and when i adjusted the saddle for a test ride i was shocked to see the alan engraved name.
Imagine this was visible in the add ....

I have looked many times at your alan as this is the most beautiful one imho, but near non existent to find so this was for me the next best thing.
