Can someone help me identify this Nikishi road bike?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to purchase this sexy looking bike for $120 CAD on friday & I was just wondering if anyone could help me figure out the exact make or model the bike is?
The seller apparently goes to estate sales and picks up bikes like this one, cleans, oils and resells them to fund his hobby. Unfortunately that's all he knows so I'm trying to prep myself so I know exactly what to look for just to be safe and cautious
This will be my very first road bike and I'm pretty excited Yay! ^__^
Thank you in advanced, this forum rocks!

Pass! The stem mounted shifters indicate it's a low end Nishiki.

It says Rally on the top tube so I'll go with that. Pretty sure that bike has a Sugino 66 crank, which is aluminum and not bad. If the things' never been ridden, $120 is alright and it will be good. If the thing's been abused, $120 will be about half what it costs to get it running nicely.

Welcome to the Bike Forums.
The Nishiki is a Rally, a mid seventies model by the looks of the picture. The Rally was their entry level recreational bike offering little in the sophistication department. None the less, if the bike is a good fit and in good condition, then the asking price is not bad, at all.
To be safe and cautious, you might want to spend some time learning how to be safe and cautious by looking through Vintage Bicycle Quality, How to Find Vintage Bicycles and How To Buy a Vintage Bicycle.
Hope that is a help at getting you up to speed.

The rims appear (from the reflection) to be steel, which will lessen the brakes' stopping power. No quick release makes wheel servicing and adjustment in the dropouts take longer (and you'll need to carry a 15mm wrench).
Take a few minutes to browse Randyjawa's links. You might find that you'd like to take the plunge with this one. Alternatively, there are better bikes out there...
