Rleighs
Can anyone help me with sizing on these bikes. I am 511 and ride a 57. Would any bikes below fit me. http://norfolk.craigslist.org/bik/2943172988.html
Is this at all interesting or worth an overhaul? http://norfolk.craigslist.org/bik/3015561699.html Let me know! Thanks |
Sorry for the poor and misspelled title. :(

I would say that neither the red or blue Raleighs are a size 57cm (more like 59-62). That said, several of my vintage bikes are larger than my newer ones.
Measure your cycling inseam and find out the standover height. With an inch of clearance you are good to go, less than an inch may become problematic in certain dismount situations. |
Hmm, as ww says, they aren't 57's but the second may fit you. Note it is a Phillips, not a Raleigh. It may be a decent bike and perhaps in your market it is priced okay. But it is not a superb road bike. Would be quite useful though for utility and general sport riding. It would not be your choice for, say, 30 miles or more once you've ridden something better.

The Phillips is made by Raleigh, looks to be early 70s. It would be the better fit for you. It's not a spectacular bike but I've had several and they are well made and fun in a gaspipe kind of way. The 10 speeds are kind of rare.
