Shimano 600 in a Bronze Finish
I recently picked up a Centurion Ironman Master that was outfitted with some Shimano that I had never seen before. It was normal Shimano 600 but it was finished in a really nice Chromey Bronze color. They all seem to have normal model numbers, but after looking them up on Velobase I couldn't find anything with a similar color.
So what's the deal with these parts? Were they sold separately? Or were some bikes just outfitted with this instead of the regular silver/chrome parts?

I think that was the years (maybe 1 or 2) between 600EX and TriColor but I am not sure. I believe I had seen it before.

I had the bronze color calipers and levers with black hoods, bio pace chain rings on my otherwise Sante equipped 1987 Trek 1500. They went went well with the yellow paint.

I think the finish was offered for the first Biopace road setup. I remember those colored rings for 600.

They look great on the bike too. The Ironman itself is a color that I haven't seen before also. I'll post that up once I finish putting it all back together.
I agree with you guys, they look great, and look like they've had very minimal wear.
Oh yeah, the rear derailleur and shifters look like normal/silver chrome Shimano 600 SIS

My 1985 Centurion Elite RS came with a mix of bronze colored components, Araya Wheels, Dia-Compe Brakes, 600EX Crankset W/Biopace Chain Rings. I have collected the Bronze 600EX brakes & levers to replace the Dia Compe's & picked up some new Bronze Biopace rings, I have never seen the bronze colored FD though and would like to add that to my want list. The chain rings seem to be hard to color match between the large & small rings as I have a bunch that range from a dark brown looking color to a almost gold color, some are NOS even.
I had never seen the bronze colored Shimano components until I got my Elite RS and I really liked the way they looked, anybody else have other Shimano parts with the bronze coloring to them, I would like to find a 1" headset in the bronze color for my Elite.

They look nice, as said, not a "Bronze" on my laptop's screen but a different subdued color from the regular silver. I swear I saw that grouppo on a bicycle in the early 90's in one of our LBS. Enjoy!

what does the rear derailleur and shifters look like? I just picked up a trek 560 '87 i believe - that has the same crankset, brake levers, calipers. the FD isn't bronze and it came with a replacement 105 RD.

I tend to associate that group with 1987 for some reason. I think I've seen them on a 1987 Panasonic DX-5000 before but will have to double check that.

i've got those levers (they require a fatter insert where the housing meets the lever -- hopefully yours has it), and a few of the FDs. i've never seen a matching RD though.
