converting from 650b to 26"
Hello folks, I need some advice
I recently aquired an Apollo Commuter bike with the intention of putting a nexus IGH hub in it. It was only once I got the bike home that I discovered it has 650b wheels and not conventional 26" as was advertised. Whilst I know 650b bikes are growing in popularity, the simple fact is that finding decent-priced 650b rims and tyres in Australia is damn near impossible, and im trying to stick to a tight budget on this build My question is this: has anyone successfully swapped out 650b wheels for 26"? the bike has side-pull brakes and by my measurement using long-drop bmx calipers I should have no brake problems |
Or go 650A's for a near perfect fit. Performance tires are sometimes hard to find.

650B are 26" tires. Just one of the 5 or so versions of 26" tires.
Maybe going to a 650A (590mm) would simplify things? |

Velocity makes the Synergy in 650B and are Australian if I'm not mistaken.
