can anyone give me some info on these bikes, were there many made, what periods were they made from, etc.

I know nothing, but I'd guess late 50s, early 60s. There is a nice one pictured in Jan Heine's "Competion Bike" book, and one was on ebay recently.

Did you check the Classic Rendesvous site for info?

Barlati? Are you sure it is not Bartali? Post a few photos and you will get far better answers.
