A new (orange) ride.

I am temporarily retiring my Peugeot and building up this Colner I got from Jan to take its place. I am taking advantage of its pre-exisisting scars to make it into a thoroughly functional bike, keeping the flash to a minimum. I hope.

Build specifics will be kept secret until the reveal - probably sometime next week - but feel free to make suggestions

My first Italian, and my first orange bike. Should be fun!

Yummy looking color combo there between the two. What type of headset is that on the Colner?

The Fountainhead is in my top 3...just sayin'.

I was tempted by that Colner too but decided against it and bought a plastic frame to build up instead... trying not to have duplicate bikes since space is tight.

What are your build plans? No way that bike will end up with a minimum amount of flash. Paint blemishes or not, that frame is a stunner.

That's like me saying "I won't be drilling anything on this particular build".

Riiiiight

She looks even better in that bright lighting. Going to look fantastic, I'm sure.

I'll be avidly following this thread!

We'll see. I have some unconventional things planned for it. Hope to have a good ratio of function to class and not too much outright bling, for new york city reasons.

You are amassing quite a collection. Hey, we should arrange a Brooklyn C&V ride some time, maybe in Prospect Park or something.

So much for keeping this build under wraps. Here's a big hint that came in the mail today:

Nuovo or Super Record would be something new (albeit old).

True. Contemplating an NR or SR build-up later on for the Peugeot pictured above, in fact.

I gather that this build will be somewhat ideologically controversial and aesthetically disappointing for some. I think it will look alright, and serve its purpose wonderfully. I'll update with frame details when there is some sunlight.

That's all that matters; after all, it's your bike

Good deal - I like details, especially frame details.
