Where to buy spokes?

Hi. Anybody know of good deals on spokes, right now? I don't need anything fancy -- as long as they're stainless, I'm agnostic about butting. But cheap is the important thing. Thanks!

call danscomp. sapim db spokes were 0.40/ea last i checked. you can only order over the phone. they provide free nipples, but they're longer than normal, so you might ask them if they have the standard length nipples.

email lee at lkspoke at yahoo dot com, tell him what you want. He'll get back to you within a day or two with a price. Nipples extra, so be sure to ask for those if you need them. Best prices I've ever found. No affiliation to me, never met him, no kickbacks &c.

eBay seller childhood_dreams is where I buy all my spokes. Fast and inexpensive.

Niagara is another place to shop. I'm with you about butting - too cheap to pay for it, and I don't think it's as important as having enough of them.

This is exactly who I use too. He's also super fast. I ordered spokes Tuesday, he shipped them Wednesday, and and the tracking says they will arrive Friday.

Good point. A LBS just opened in my Brunswick down on West Potomac Street and I've been buying some stuff from him if it isn't time sensitive. Unfortunately, because he's a very small shop, he waits until he has a sort of large order and then places it so that shipping doesn't eat into his profits.

Usually that would be a question, but Lee is as honest as they come. Once he shipped me some spokes and they got lost in the mail. As soon as I let him know that the tracking number was coming up dead, he went to his post office, checked, and then just sent me more spokes. He's a standup guy for sure.

I have heard nothing but good things about Lee and all of my dealings with him have been absolutely flawless. My comment to rhm was purely in jest. Frankly, there'd be no need for eBay buyer protection if all the folks on eBay were like him.

+1 I've only ordered from him once but he was fast, accurate and cheap. Normally those three don't go together.

Lee is aces.

Don't be indifferent about spokes. It is always worth the small premium for swaged spokes on a wheel build.

Ditto, great guy, fast service and no issues, ever. I am a repeat customer.

I would if they didn't charge $2 a spoke even when you want to buy in bulk. That adds over $100 to a pair of my wheels. I could see maybe a $10 premium but not $100.

$2/spoke???

Darn, I thought the $1/spoke the LBS's around here charge was expensive. Just buy Lee's spokes and save a ton of money!

$2 a spoke is pretty common around here, too. I buy things from them when they can come close to online prices, but I can't afford to spend $150 on something I could get for $50.

No, thank YOU for the great spokes, low prices and fast delivery. Those ones I ordered Tuesday which you mailed Wednesday did indeed arrive Friday, and I will be building the wheels today. Much appreciated.

It's time for my first complete wheel build. Is Lee still in the spoke business, using the same email?

I don't know, I haven't ordered from him in over a month. Want me to email him for you?

j/k. I'd suggest you try it and see what happens.
