Fuji fans, something you've never seen before, a 1977 Fuji "Professional Pursuit"

This 1977 Fuji "Professional Pursuit" was part of the late Eugene "Gene" Ritvo's collection of Fujis that my good friend William Bevington and I collaborated on a few years ago. He owns this one-of-a-kind '77 Pursuit and it's matching '77 Professional Road, I have Gene's '82 Professional Super Record, his 1985 Opus III and his '76 Austro-Daimler Ultima Superleicht. A later '70's Professional resides with one of our other C&V members. I can't shake the memory of walking into the basement of one of Boston's noted bike shops and seeing all of them hanging on racks, dusty, but perfection. William and I had arranged a series of trades, one that would would have allowed the road version to stay with me but when they were splayed out on my lawn we realized the the Pursuit and the Road needed to be kept together. So, some tasty bits:

Photographs of the road version will be forthcoming ...

As we like to say in the BFSSFG forum: nice slack chain, bro.

Just kidding, that's pretty ******. Thanks for sharing the pics and story.

That bike looks practically new. What a specimen. I'd like to see the roadie.

Thanks .. I knew Gene rode all of the bikes he owned but they were maintained in his usual meticulous style. A few of them were also used as "boardroom queens". Here's a pic of the road version, it's not my photograph so I was hesitant to use it. Previous owners had photographed the whole collection in preparation for future sales on eBay. Luckily, they never made it that far.

A little different color scheme ... the saddle has a really beautiful Fujita/YFC cover on it.

Looks like a road fork (oval blades) on the track bike. I wonder if that was original?

It just kills me that they probably only made one of those! That is one gorgeous and beautiful bike! The paint is just magnificent! It is great to hear that those beauties ended in the right hands, and are well taken care of!

Surely the oval blades are standard when there is a front brake.

Both are absolutely beautiful, nice move keeping them together, they are in the right hands, as said.
