There aren't a lot of 1 inch quill stems out there, especially a long one.

This is a my SS Bianchi BUSS I've been putzing around on. My old school Rock Shox suspension seatpost just arrived yesterday. With the Brooks Ti Swift saddle and the Rock Shox seatpost it gives quite the plush ride. I picked up the bike at a swap this past January for $85 as a complete bike. I took off the flat bars and installed some Soma HwyOne 44mm bars and a $15 Amazon Avenir 60mm stem. Then a pair of Tektro linear pull brake levers. Total I think have like $200 including the bike.

Cool ride. A brown Bianchi, never thought I would see one...
Plus a SS!

Great info.
Finished up my aluminum Trek 7000 build
after rattle can pumpkin orange paint job as 1x7 and Soma Oxford bars.
Used Compass Mule Shoe Pass Tires.
Came in at 24.8 pounds. I like it.
Durability of rattle can paint will probably suck
but I can powder coat later.

Here's my latest dropbar MTB conversion. I REALLY like this bike and I think I'll put Campy (-speed 2001 era Mirage Ergo levers and rear derailler on it. These bar ends work really well but they get bumped out of gear a lot when leaning the bike and rooting in the panniers. Btw, the bike is a Giant BUTTE and has 48-38-28 chainrings and a 9-speed 11-19 corncob cassette.

Impressive, not familiar with that Raleigh model or models released to the UK.
The tires look cushy!

Would you tell me about some parts you used? That's a sweet rig. What handlebar/stem/brake set up did you go with?
I'm resto-modding a Chrome Zeus.

Raleigh made a small number of these in Ti, 853 and a slightly lower grade steel, sold as full bikes and frame-only, with a matching range of road bikes. This is the 350 model, but it was a NOS frame, having never had decals (or headbadge, sadly) applied.
Aside from the obvious, it's a 34t Uno ring and 11-34 cassette, WTB PowerBeam rims and the fantastic Compass Rat Trap Pass extralight tyres. On-One Midge bars, Humpert/Ergotec High Charisma stem, Weinmann levers from the coop parts bin, Dura Ace shifter, Tektro CR720 cantis. Surly LHT fork drops the angles down to 73 72.5.
Eventual plan is to get a disc mount brazed on for 650b touring tyre goodness and maybe a longer fork to restore the geo - not sure how much benefit I'm getting from the steeper head angle and I could use different bars

It's a beautiful bike, btw. I wish that I'd powdercoated my frame this shade of yellow.

The yellow has a lovely pearl finish. The flames are a bit 90s chav ridiculous but I like them anyhow.
Yes, catalogue builds were with Manitou SX or SIDs I think, as best I can measure with my inclinometer the geo is measured with an A-C of ~400mm
