looks nice... what year is it? I was looking thru catalogs and I think mine is a 91... only models higher than pine mountain that year were the team and team ti.

Loving all your bikes. I'm just about to start converting my GT Outpost from 98. Don't know if it classify as vintage but yea. Will post pictures as soon as I get to 10 posts.

Looking for tires right now. Slicks or semi slicks as large as possible. Have been looking at 26 x 2.3′′ rat trap pass, continental speed king racesport 26 x 2 2, schwalbe nobby nic evo addix speedgrip 26x2.25. Loving the tan sides of the compass tires and I'd prefer to have tan sidewalls (just for the looks). Anyone have some suggestions that are similar to these tires? Riding mostly on paved roads. Maybe 65/35.

a bit smaller, but I’m probably going to go with the 26x1.75 paselas for mine. I’d like compass but I don’t know if I can spend that much on tires.

I think 95? It shares the frame with the Eldridge Grade, which was one step below your Pine Valley. Then the Bear Valley “not S.E.” Had a different frame, a step down from that, that was shared with the Palisades Trail. Odd to have the same named bike but the SE with an entirely different frame, but there you go! 🤷*♂️

My 91 High Plains is just about... snip the cables, crimp the ends and then we hit the trail! The bar tape goes well with the bike, eh?

included is a pic of my dropbar Schwinn hybrid. Super comfortable on fast or long rides. Rode it hard this morning. Suppose to be a winter bike but can’t seem to let it be. Problem solver...Will now ride the High Plains while I pull and paint the white fork to match the Volare’ frame.

Yep! You know, I once saw a sig file, on this site I think, that said, "Friends don't let friends ride splash tape." But I agree with you, on this bike, that yellow/black is PERFECT. Just goes to show everything has its place!

Thanks guys! A short ride had me swing the bars up a little so the drops had a little bit more slope. Now to solve the rattle coming from the hub safety clips. It’s a smooth ride with the 1.5 tires pumped to 40psi. It certainly not a fast ride by any means but should be good for cowboy roaming days. The Colt will have to stay underneath me some time longer before I make a decision. This was the one I picked up on BF cause the PO thought it was lopsided. Haven’t decided what is going on with it but does feel comfortable so far.

Nice! btw - I found A Pair on Amazon, gonna have to pass.

I got it off a friend who purchased from a local shop. It doesn't have a model number or anything i can see.

It's similar to this mini front rack on amazon.

Found some non aero Dia-Compe levers at the shop... took it for a test ride and it feels great. Now just need bar tape and I’ll be riding this quite a bit I think.

How are the shifters mounted unless the bar is thinner diameter than the standart 23.8mm road bar?

That's the bodging part. These '89 XT thumbies' clamps are forged aluminum, so they aren't really bendable. Therefore I took my DX thumbies' clamps (steel), bent them up, found some longer screws for them, added the XT top parts and done.

And here's the frame for the previous stuff. Scott Windriver 1989. I'm currently waiting for my ordered components to arrive.

Hey, it's a Peruzzo Marte. It works for 2 bikes, but not for 3 unfortunately (even tho they claim it can hold 3, it physically cannot haha).

I see you're in Hungary. Unfortunately for me a quick search didn't turn up any Peruzzo Marte dealers in North America :-( But thanks for the info anyway!

Just finished up a GT Tequestra drop bar conversion with UK randonneur bars, RSX brifters and the stock 3x7 STX drivetrain. Running a V brake up front with a travel agent, double racks, and Ritchey tanwall 1.9's
