Raleigh CitySport Skyline
Hi experts,
First I'm a bike novice - in fact maybe a beginner novice
I doubt that my bike is a true vintage model but ....
A few years ago, I bought a used but refurbished men's Raleigh Citysport Skyline bike at a bike shop. Also a label shows "Urban Access" and, to my dismay, "made in Taiwan".
The handle bars are straight. The frame label shows "502 Chrome Moly"
I'm just looking to learn more about the bike, if anyone can help.
How many speeds - (I know it is > 10)
When were these bikes manufactured?
Thanks for any info. John

Hmmm, I'm not versed on newer Raleigh bikes by any means. I'd suggest getting some detail pictures of the various components on the bike and that will probably help. Drive side pictures (the side with the chain) are most useful.

Hmm interesting... It appears to have a square taper crank of some sort, but I can't make out what is written on the crank. Looking at the style of the crank and overall look of the bicycle, I'm guessing it's an 80's or 90's bike. I'm not the best person for figuring out stuff that is this new, so perhaps someone will eventually come up with a better date.
BTW, did you try finding some of the catalogs that people have put online? They may be helpful. The Headbadge website has a lot of catalogs and whatnot.

Photogravity, the crank has "SAKAE SA" engraved. As I mentioned, the bike was manufactured in taiwan I think.
It's not a great bike but it meets my non-demanding needs. I paid $120 5 years ago.
Tahnks for your interest in my questions. We can close this one.
