berthoud bag question

Hello C&V

Does anyone know the length from the bottom of the Berthoud handlebar bag (GB25 or GB28) to the top-center leather portion where a decaleur is installed?

Thanks.

Bump. I'd like to know this as well.

Inquiring minds want to know.

How about asking a seller of such bags, e.g., Mike Kone/Boulder Bikes?

rootboy 07-03-12 07:46 AM

Given the number of responses, I suspect not many of us here own said beautiful bag.

Pipe down. No one asked for you to teach us how to fish. We want you to give us a fish.

You gotta take into account Internet research: gather five or so disparate answers and take an average.

crush 18 cans of beer on your forehead. Stack them on top of each other. That's how tall it is.

You guys!

Fried, preferably!

Ok, I actually have one. I measure 19 to 20 cm, depending on exactly where you need to drill it, such as if your bag has the thick aluminum brace at the top. But, I think the most important thing is to set it up on your rack with the decaleur and eyeball, measure, and consider carefully - you don't have many chances to drill it before you've ruined it.

Which model do you have?

Thanks, sir!

I have a GB28 and that measurement is around 23.5cm.

ColonelJLloyd 07-04-12 09:25 PM

The corresponding measurement for the VO Pass Hunter rack with integrated decaleur is ~17cm with the decaleur fully inside the receiver.

It's possible that would be too low for the GB25. Low enough and it could interfere with the backside pockets.

ColonelJLloyd 07-05-12 06:39 AM

Yeah, and surely too low for the GB28, which is what I would prefer as I ride 25" frames.

I've been looking at this too, as i ride 25" to 27" frames, but they are so damn huge? i have no idea how i would a) fill it up or b) reach all my food that fell to the bottom of the bag.

Captain Blight 07-16-12 11:36 AM

Makes me wonder about a bag rack that used the stem bolt and barend plugs as anchor points. I don't need a anything that big, either.

Hmmmmmmm….

Hopslam 07-16-12 11:57 AM

I have a 28, nitto front rack & VO decaleur for threadless headset . 63 cm frame with uncut steerer tube just used different sized spacers for a perfect fit . Funny thing I bought these bags before the frame, honjo fenders too & racks. Came out good.

Cheers
