They probably came from the dump or the scrapheap. Maybe there's a nice one or two in there, but I'm blinded by all the rusty crap. I'm sure he ran out of room inside. What's he gonna do, leave that AWESOME Chicago poster out in the rain?

Don't see a worthy flipper in any of that . Looks like the junkyard came to him. Like the Koken barber chair, but it's missing the headrest.

Holy house full of junk. That man was a true hoarder. Those bikes are in sad shape. I like the look of the motorcycle that was stored inside though.

I've seen estate sales almost as bad as this. Some people are compulsive collectors, to put it mildly. And you can figure out approximately when they stopped acquiring, which is a reflection of their health decline, which is another sad thing.

I had a Koken barbers chair that I restored. Luckily mine had the headrest and paper dispenser attached, because they can be expensive. I sold it a few years ago to a guy starting a tattoo parlor because my pool table room was never going to happen.

They were junk when new, though they'll make a lovely artificial reef now. Come to think of it, that's the only useful purpose they could provide at this point.

In the third picture down, what is the thing that looks like a unicycle? It looks like it has a metal ring attached to it by a hinge.
I'm so bidding on that box of bags of Orange Crush soda bottle caps. What a sweet collection.
The local Recycle-A-Bike program had a yardsale 3-4 years ago, because they were moving. This collection of bikes reminds me of their yardsale, only these bikes are in better shape, and their probably not selling them for 75-300 each. I don't know if they sold a single bike at the yardsale and they were all donated bikes, so there wasn't any need to charge that much.

Bicycles are made to be used and stored outside. They don't melt when they get wet. What's a little rust anyhow? OA takes it right off. All the better, I say. If they were really nice then I'd have to pay more for them...

From what I heard it used to be a fire station (it's in a really small town) and when that was no more it became a dumping ground for neighbors. I was out there last weekend and I kinda hoped they'd find more bikes that had been stored inside, but it doesn't look like it. There is a lot of stuff out there and a large building, so they're going to be at this for a few more weekends. The only thing I found that interested me was a red rattlecanned (including the cranks) Raleigh missing wheels, a brake lever and a few other things. It felt pretty light (could be because it was missing stuff) but it had cottered cranks. I almost bought it, but I didn't want to mess around with those things, especially not knowing what the frame was.
I might go out there again but I don't know if they've added anything. Component hunting might be a waste if they've been outside for so long.

Wow, a sad result of a disturbed hoarder, now gone. Having too much space and time, but not awashed in wealth, could be a bad combination for some. I wonder if the owner was born during the Great Depression?
Having and collecting a lot of things isn't a crime (yet, they are passing hoarding laws here in AZ).
But there are clearly signs when things aren't all well upstairs.

There was an estate auction here last year that was kind of like that, but just bikes. The outside bikes (like the ones in this sale) were mostly scraped, but he had dozens and dozens of bikes in a warehouse (yes, a warehouse in an industrial area). They were mostly 1960s and 1970s and not especially noteworthy- Schwinns, Western Flyers, etc. I didn't see any quality Euro or Asian bikes in there, so I passed.
