Save oppurtunity
 

Went to a local metal recycler today to see if there were any bicycles there that could be had. Everyone was very nice. People pull in with pickups or vans or what not, back up to a huge pile of metal and throw stuff on. There were some big box store type kids and mountain bikes laying on top. Saw a skinny tire and sticking up, then some thin steel tubing, got hopefull. Nothing great. a "Murray 10" in blue that was in ok shape except for a fair amount of rust at the seat tube/seat stay intersection and an older Ross Gran Tour. Sadly someone had thrown them on top of one another and someone else had thrown an air conditioner and a 4' section ofW 8x20ish steel column on top of both. The ross was in awefull shape with rust, the rear wheel tacoed by the column was mild insult as compared. Not sure i'll be doing that again. Was kind a hoping a Bianchi that only needed cleaning and polishing would be sitting on top. I'm allowed to hope. No big. Guess the thing to do would be to tip the kid supervising the drop off area, give him my cell phone number, and ask nicely if he could put something decent aside. Not sure I want to get that involved.
