My Lotus Legend
I thought that people might be interested in a look at the Lotus Legend that I custom ordered in 1981. This is the largest frame size that they made at 27". I am buying a hybrid for the type of riding I plan to be doing, but am torn as to whether to sell this.

Don' even think about selling that beautiful bike. You've had it for 30yrs, it fits you, you're almost guaranteed to have sellers remorse if you let it go. How much do you think you could get for it, $300-400 (+-), not a lot in terms of what that money can buy you. And certainly nothing wrong with having two(or more) bikes, its almost mandatory for most folks here, keep it!

It's really nice, but I think you'd have a hard time selling it on account of the size, and after you realize your mistake you'd have an even harder time buying anything like it in that size.

That bike would serve the purpose of a Hybrid well. There's plenty of clearance for wider tires and you could always add flat bars/shifters without defiling the bike.

You would regret selling it for all the reasons above +. there is no such thing as too many bikes. Just not enough space.

She's a beauty and you deserve kudos for keeping your Legend in such nice condition for so many years.
Lotus bikes are still kind of low on the value curve in my opinion, but I think that's changing. If you must sell, now isn't the best time. In any case, it's a shame to sell your bike.
If it was my bike, I'd work on bringing it back to as original as possible and buy a different bike to meet your current needs. A 100% original, 1-owner, first-generation Lotus bike is quite a treasure.
