It doesn't matter if you ride it, or just rub it with a cloth diaper to keep it nice and shiny! Let's honor our two-wheeled gems with a nice photo or two here!

This one wasn't an expensive bike, but it is my favoite. A 1981 Fuji S-12-S (18-speed). My first nice lightweight road bike as a kid was an S-10-S "Special Road Racer".

I don't have many C&V bikes, but my 1972 Mercian stands out for me. I love to look at it and I love to ride it-- this year alone it's seen two imperial centuries, a near-century, and a bunch of metric centuries as well as shorter rides.

This one: The Fabulous Birthday Merckx. Built it not quite a year ago and rode it so much I already had to replace the tires- now wearing Vittoria Open Corsa 320 TPI's. Did a century on this one recently.

1974 Koko Sport 3000 Superbike. stripped & FG now with nicer Brooks accessories that cost more than the bike probably was priced complete new off the store floor.

My current fave...

...although I'm really fickle and my tastes change from one day to the next. Tomorrow, I plan on my favorite being the Freshi; Saturday, the Paramount; Sunday...

"Mel"

This 1986 Raleigh Sprite is my favourite (so far) for many reasons. It was the first vintage bike I played with and restored and for some reason it is a blast to ride. It has a simple 6 speed cassette and a single chainring.

The original owner (hence the name "Mel") is now 94 and doesnt ride any longer, but when he was shown this photo recently he commented he wanted his bike back!

It is no secret on these forums that my favorite ride is the 1950 Norman Rapide. It doesn't get much better than this: light, responsive, classy, well made. I'm sorry for rhm but happy for me that this bike didn't fit rhm, or I'd not have had an opportunity to own this great machine.

I'm of the opinion that just because a bicycle isn't expensive doesn't necessarily mean that it can't be a nice riding bike. I have to admit that my strong affinity for English roadsters is informed by the fact that I like simple bicycles and that, in turn, extends to my choice in road bikes.

Given what a nice bicycle that is, I understand why is is among your favorites. It is a beautiful machine and one that even I would be proud to own!

Doc, that is a great looking machine. You have an eye for detail on your builds that never ceases to grab my attention. Maybe I'll have an opportunity to see it in the flesh some day.

I love the continuing saga of this fabulous, truly beautiful bike! I was the guy who posted it on the "are you looking for one of these" threads about 3 years ago. I couldn't get over to Cornwall, NY and figured it would get into good hands posting it on B.F ... and that it did!!!

My personal 'favorite'? That's a no brainer; my Moots, baby!

Many of you are probably tired of seeing it, but what can I say? Measured for me,
fits like a glove, and comfortable to ride all day. Plus, I love when a speedster
pulls up next to me on one of those Ti jobs, looks down and does a double take
at the DT decal! In the end, though... it's 100% homegrown, and that means a lot.

I don't think I've seen that before, and I certainly would never get tired of it. Titanium is just awesome stuff in the hands of builders like Moots and that bike just reeks of class, style and efficiency.

Aaron,

That's the beauty of her... 100% Tange Prestige, standard diameter frame tubes! The most common reply is,

"I didn't know Moots made Cro-Mo bikes!"

Yep, they did.

I knew Moots had done some steel...especially MTBs as I recall...but I still automatically jump to titanium! I knew yours was steel, was just commenting in general on Moots

Cool as heck build.

Many thanks, my friend! She is a Mountaineer, #397. With the Moots Mounts I've put 700c's on and ridden centuries,
and even stuck on a pair of 24" wheels just to see if it could be done... yep!
