My 1989 Bottecchia SLX. I recently upgraded the drivetrain to Campy Athena 11V. She is no garage queen, she gets ridden,hard, on a regular basis.

That Bottecchia is really nice, but I hate it with all of my heart. The reason? Back when Lemond won his second Tour on one, Bottecchia made a big push to sell high end bikes in the States. The shop I worked at got dozens of them, some with Victory, others full C-Record. I was really excited to start building them up. Then the little boxes arrived. The bikes were completely unassembled. We had to do full frame prep, install every piece individually and even hand build the wheels. There was no way to turn a profit on these things. After building 4 or 5, the shop owner flipped his lid and sent the rest of them back.
You would think that was the end of it, but a year later when Lemond started selling complete bikes, the same thing happened. And you wonder why neither brand really exists any more.

Glad to have helped in some way to help save this masterpiece for those who can truly appreciate it for the great bike it is! Reynolds 531 frame, and a zillion other great features!

I am going to stretch the rules of the thread a little and post my favorite classic road bike which does not belong to me. The even weirder thing is that I ride a big bike and this is on the smaller end of the spectrum. I think a 56cm frame looks just right, and yet this bike still speaks to my tastes and look right even though it is smaller. It is gorgeous in it's elegance and simplicity with just enough chrome and little paint accent flares to show that it is truly loved and cared for. And the paint! It is my favorite colour, I would paint my truck this colour if I could. It's is exquisite. Without further Adieu I give you Ken Lyon's 1980 Custom De Rosa Professional (posted without permission though I an sure he won't mind):

I love it.

Yeah if I owned a shop I would have lost my **** too if the wheels weren't even assembled! You can't make money with that kind of labour input. I built cervelos in a shop for three years and they came largely un-assembled, but with complete wheels and frame prep. was not required, a TT bike could take 3 hours to assemble and that was only once you had done a few, the first one always takes the longest.

Beautiful bike, but is that really a 56? Looks more like 52/53 to me.

My personal favorite bike is usually my most recently acquired bike. I picked up this Centurion Semi Pro about a month ago. I've done a couple of club rides and a metric century on it. Great riding bike.

post edited. I was trying to emphasize that even though I think a 56 looks just right, I still love this bike although it is obviously smaller.

Gotta throw this one in ... getting to be a tie with the Fuji ... plus, I just came off a quick ride with it.

1983 Lotus Eclair touring bike ... the fenders are "old school" Brittons like the ones on Photogravity's Norman Rapide ...
I threw on some white 40-year-old hood lever covers since this picture was taken.

I've probably seen pictures of better bikes, but this has got be be my all-time favorite picture from the forum. The contrast between these two machines is phenomenal. Pic was posted about 7 years ago by bigwoo who hasn't been around much lately.

Trek 560 Professional Series

When it comes to actual riding time, the Trek 560 is my favorite! It is a great bike when I want to get somewhere quick.
