Medici serial numbers

Trying to determine the year this frame was built. Medici Camino Real serial# 61 282. The 61 is frame size, but wondering if the production year was '82.

Any help appreciated.

Don't need info on the Confette/Masi/Medici mess.

Michael Howard at one time participated in the Classicrendezvous list. Details and transfers have been more helpful in indicating a date.

I think I found a partial answer on CR - the second number, 282 in this case, is the 282nd one produced.

Still trying to identify year of manufacture on the Camino Real / El Dorado model. It was not in the '80 or '84 catalogue.

Those price point models were later, much later. I think the late late 80's or even the 90's.

I agree, which diminishes my interest in the frameset. My C&V roadies are mostly early 80s.

I have been collecting Medici serial numbers since purchasing Pro Strada frame sn 62 0150. (Mike Howard speculated that mine was build in 1978 or 1979.) As of yet, I have not published anything though. I will get to it, but keep waiting to get some more with known mappings between sn and production year. I will also admit to a bit of laziness...

I believe when Medici first started they offered Pro Strada, Gran Turismo, and Pista models. All serial numbers were sequential within each model, so presumably each model started with sn FF 001, where FF is the frame size. I agree that the Camino Real would have been a later addition to the available choices.

If anybody has some serial numbers (hopefully with known production years!) to share, let me know. PM is fine as is mail to skip@pobox.com. If you'd like me to shoot you a copy of what I have so far, I'm happy to do that as well. (Maybe I should just toss it all into a Google Docs spreadsheet.)

If Medici kept the Masi practice, your 62 0150 would be number 1,150.

Right, but they didn't, so it isn't.

From an earlier BF thread on the subject of Medicis: Value of 1979 Medici Pro Strada ???

Just in case others here haven't seen my posts about the spreadsheet elsewhere, it is up on the net now:
