Does anyone know anything about General bicycles? Where they were built? Is the company still in business? I have a "Journey"

I know they sponsored Tinker Juarez to race their MTB bikes in the early 90's. He rode a Yeti with General stickers.

I had a General BMX in the 80's. And that's all I know about them.
