Don't replace your SunTour derailleurs at all, unless they are broken or bent. Better would be to remove and clean them thoroughly. Then re-lubricate the pivot points. Remount them with fresh outer and inner cables. SunTour derailleurs worked very well as compared to any other derailleurs of their era, and are extremely durable.

Can you show a photo of the bike and a close-up of the derailleurs?

Hero is basically the bottom end of Suntour, but still function fine. I would not replace them either.

Now if you just want something that looks nicer, sure, first generation Cyclone are beautiful.

On upgrades, you will reach the point that the frame and fork are the limiting factors, and seeking out a better bike is the best upgrade. Now that you have a bike, it takes the pressure off. You can take your time looking and wait on a great deal, and many of your upgrades will move easily to the new bike.
Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
