Ionic frames, does anyone ride one?

Hi friends, do any of you have any experience with this frame builder? I have never heard of them, and wanted to obtain a few opinions from some of you! I thank you for your time and help!

I tend towards the Doric myself.

Can't say that I've ever seen that builder. No fork?

And it could just be that it's the end of the day and my brain is fried, but the derailleur hanger looks like it's rotated around to the back a long way.

I've heard they attract dust like no other...

You may have better luck finding info in a MTB forum or even a road forum as Ionics are all recently produced. A quick web search reveals that these are all hand built in Boulder, CO. This jogged my memory a bit and I'm pretty sure that Ionic is just the name that Dean (the ones that make the titanium bikes) puts on their steel bikes. I'd guess that its pretty nice. And that Breezer dropout looks fine to me. Are you looking to have a custom frame made or are you looking to buy this specific one? I have heard some negative chatter about Dean's customer service & communication although I've heard good things about the bikes.

Ionic used to be a small company based in Idaho, IIRC. They mostly built Ti and steel MTB frames, though I have a Ti road frame with MTB style features. They were acquired by Dean, then the name became just another brand to sell Dean frames. I put many thousands of miles on mine, including at least 10 double centuries, but recently discovered a crack in the down tube :(

I was thinking iambic, but the pentameter part escapes me at the moment.

So like, is that TT to HT angle less than 90deg? I guess it won't have a horizontal TT.

Thanks to those who commented. I friend of mine acquired the frame, and ask me to obtain some information about it. I thank you for your time. I appreciate it!

Ahahahaha, YES!

Classic.

Have you contacted Dean? As long as you're the original owner they should warranty it.
