Four people, four wheels
BF member photogravity Dallas and his wife Rachel joined us for a dual-tandem ride today. About 41 miles, Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, back to Carlisle, Concord, back to Bedford. It was an awesome day! Of course they rode the Bilenky tandem with the fat wheels, and we rode our Peugeot with 700c x 32mm tires. We rode a good pace today, up and down some hills and along some flat roads of all types. It was pleasure to run dual tandems with another very competent team. And we had a few nice picnics. :thumb:
And such great company! Nice! Always great to see some tandems getting a work out!

Cool! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

Four people, four wheels
I have to admit that we were very excited to be able to finally go for a ride with another tandem. ;) This was our first time riding with another tandem and yours also, so there was lots of excitement on both ends. The old Peugeot tandem seems very capable and the work you did reassembling it was top notch.
One thing I can say to anybody that reads this post: if you ever get a chance to go for a ride with Jim and Sharon, JUST DO IT! You will NOT be disappointed. They are the most gracious hosts anyone would want to meet. When I get a chance I'll post a few pictures we took in this thread, but it'll be a little while because we're heading out on a short (20ish miles) ride to Middleton for ice cream at Richardson's Dairy. :) |
Nice! Dallas you and the misses need to get with the program and get matching jerseys.
|
See how much fun you have when you the the IGH equipped bikes in the basement?:D
|
You kids have all the fun.
I am sheet rocking, mudding and priming this afternoon. :( |

Great pictures and great bikes. |
Dang, and all I got was rained on in CT last night and a 6% grade that lasted 59584 miles. Glad you had a better time than me! Though I admit, my first thought was vintage unicycles when I saw the thread title.

Good times, good times...

Cute pictures!
Time for you to get yourself some wool jerseys. You won't look so drenched. |
Tandemonium.
Bilenky does not have a house jersey? |

Here are a few more pictures to add to the story.
If I get a chance to upload pictures from my wife's phone I'll do so. Her pictures are better than mine. Now I'm officially jealous. Spent lots of summer nights at Richardson's during my childhood. My favorite ice cream. Especially the German Chocolate Cake. |
Cargo Shorts? Really?

Thanks for the nice comments about the bike too. It was a fun but huge project, and thanks go to a number of BF members. I had no idea when we started that it would work out as well as it did. After about 1800 miles it has proven itself a very capable, robust, and comfortable machine. Go Peugeot! |
Looks like fun, good job, folks.
