The wrap has this sheen, as if it's been buffed. I don't recall it taking too long to acquire. If the weather is nice enough and I think of it over the weekend, I'll try to get my Redcay out and see if I can capture what it looks like. I rarely ride in the drops, so that material should still look pretty much as it was originally installed. It's the tops and ramps which are smoother.

These:

I have been searching for a pair that would fit for years now. I found these with an attractive BIN and knew they'd fit because I have a pair of 43.5 Puma Touring IIs and they're just a tad too small. This new pair fits perfectly for length and is just snug enough in the toe box. Yay!

Good point! I wanted to keep the Velox because I left the old Velox tape from 63 on the bike, so I just wrapped over it. But, I will go with the Newbaums next time. I do like the feel of Velox, almost has a silk feeling. I was not able to find the Vinyl Velox. I will post a picture of the French Blue colour.

Not in the post, but a Miyata 610 came home in the trunk of my car.

Then again, an accessory to that bike did come in the post

Not cycling related, but we received a package that we sent from Virginia just over a month ago. We spent well over an hour in the PO, getting the proper customs stickers. It was delivered this morning. Now we know it can be done.

SR shifters. One more part found for one project.
Chainrings. One more part found for another project.

I was scoping out 74mm chainrings with a decent tooth count on Ebay, and was less than impressed with the price. Stronglight evidently still makes them across the pond. And very affordable.

Got the 3 T stem and bar from the mailman today. Love it when they send it wrapped in the funny papers

Another bit added to the Italvega build pile. Should be all ready to go when the frame gets here eventually.

A SRAM X.9 9-speed FD which will go on SWMBO's Rivendell. I was looking for a derailleur that took MTB indexing pull, yet was all silver, not black with white lettering. Half off price thanks to some kind of clearance by the seller.

Let's just get this out of the way up front. I'm not anti-American because I save about 50% buying this saddle from a UK vendor vs here. Last summer I purchased this very saddle here at a real local bike shop in Portland and paid full price. It's on my Straggler and I like it. I paid about half that at Wiggle, so there it is.

I paid about $6 for basic shipping. Have bought from them before & usually takes about 5 working days. This time it took exactly 4 WEEKS and this is how the box arrived. I photographed PRIOR to opening and sent an informative email to Wiggle customer service. They apologized. The saddle was not injured.

First, the box, then the saddle:
