Not exactly vintage but I received my first H+Son Archetype rim that I plan to build around a 90mm SA 5-speed hub this weekend. It's a medium height V-profile rim in polished aluminum.

I got 9/16" pedal taps and converted a French threaded alloy crankset to accept 9/16" pedals. Using Sheldon Brown's advice I tapped the new thread starting at the back of the cranks, it was a lot easier then I expected. Great!

Yay! The saddle arrived and it IS a Brook B17 Aged - now to replace the broken rivet and treat it all with some Proofide and finish building the bike it goes on ... anybody know when they introduced this model? It's not one I am familiar with. It's a little flat from (a) apparently having something heavy stacked on top of it and (b) someone having laced it. I've never needed to lace any of my other B17s that I've been riding 16-20 years now, so perhaps when I ride it a while it will resume its normal shape. We shall see ...

And lots of other parts for the Koga-Miyata SilverAce overhaul this weekend. Mostly Sturmey Archer bits.

Used Zipp road handlebars, very good condition. Just need to remove some glue residue. I believe I am going to mount them on my Airborne Zeppelin.

I've been using Rust Remover rather than Rust Converter and found the Remover leaves a powerery residue that doesn't hold paint(regardless of what it says on the tin) causing the need to sand down the whole thing again. I'm hoping the converter gives better results as a final primer.

These might be the best traveled set of NOS Specialized Touring pedals. I bought them from an eBay seller on the Isle of Man. He didn't ship to the USA, but shipped them to my nephew in London. A friend of his passing through from Michigan brought them across the pond and got them to my sister-in-law. She just came into town on the train and delivered them in person. Total out-of-pocket shipping was £5.

Got an (expensive due to import duty and taxes) package from Japan today.

The pedals feel really smooth and no play at all. They are MKS's updated BM-7 NEXT with triple cartridge bearings and the pedal cap takes a 6mm allen key.
The brass crank bolt and cap are just a little bit of bling for the SilverAce.

In the future he will assemble a PUCH to do the C&O canal trail.
My question is what happened to my old friend Photogravity?
