^^^^^ Don't throw them in the pool that way....
What came today? Minor disappointment. I picked up an old chrome Ross Mt Hood (?) at the thrift sale a week or so ago. Didn't notice until too late that the fork was bent back; both blades in parallel. Wife found an exact match on eBay, the guy accepted a decent offer, fork came today. No pics of my own; here's one from the ad:
It's definitely straight. Alas, the headset threads were damaged. I'm able to install it, but the locknut was, well, a challenge. It was also packed pretty haphazardly, esp. given the shipping cost was a major chunk of the total outlay. Well, Andy @ Yellow Jersey says he can straighten the original one, so I may just take the road trip sometime soon.

Well, not necessarily the post, but I found this box on my doorstep when I got home. A neighbor down the block sometimes sheds his old, unwanted parts--in this case, a half dozen vintage Chorus & Nuovo Record derailleurs and a few headsets. One man's trash....

In the mail from eBay yesterday (just before a thunderstorm knocked out the power for several hours.) Had one of these in my Super Course which some rotter stole out of my landlady's garage in 1975. The recent flurry of Super Course threads inspired me to get one for my U.K.-built Raleigh Racing USA which I'll post one of these days, once the thread-protector caps arrive from Oz. I loved that crankset, don't know why it took me so long to reprise it. It polished up quite nicely, didn't look bad even fresh out of the box.
Stronglight 93 (seller's listing photo) -- yes, I got the left arm too.

New tires
I finally got my $8.95 700x20c Michelins from "chainreaction". I've been using Continental Grand Prix Classics - 25c, but kind of missed the harsh ride and flats I remember from the good-old days. To be honest, I really like how the Continentals ride, they just seem to set up a bit wide on my rims. I can't even get the rear wheel out of the frame when the tire is inflated; it jams against the back of the seat tube. I'll give these new ones a test this weekend if I get the time.

I just love #Amazomas , that little rush of happiness and expectation when you see a large Amazon box on the porch. Nothing bike related today but at least I goot a new tool, made in Germany with quality
A T4 driver to try and replace the battery in my old but expensive Garmin, some ink for work.
A little remote power switch to rework the 'procession' lights on Morticia.

New sleeves for me. A saddle and grips to de-pink my son's hand-me-down Trek.

@hazetguy Once again went above and beyond to deliver the brake pad holders and skewers I needed. He added drop out screws to the package. Much thanks Jon.
They all went on the Miele I've been putting together.
