Just in time for the game...

650C rear Fir Aria for the Rossin tria bike. Didnt really need it but could not resist for the price.
Will be a quest to find matching front though.

'78 Serotta. This is my first Serotta (prolly my last as well). Living in the Albany NY area I always wanted one but could never afford it with small kids. In some sense this is a grail frame.

Everything looked fine until I slipped a wheel into the dropouts. It seems the rear triangle was tweaked during shipping. I've contacted my buddy Billy K to see if he can take a look. (Also sent a note to the seller.) If Billy has to cold set the rear triangle to straighten it out, I might just having him space it to 126mm while he's at it.

Red Origin 8 cork bar tape.

I was never really happy with the peanut-butter brown brake cable housing and faux marble brownish cork bar tape for my sand-colored '84 Univega Gran Tourismo.

So enter the RED teflon-lined Shimano Ultegra brake housing/slick cable and the red cork bar tape...

A super clean/ maybe NOS Campy derailleur set I got for a steal, and nice Sugino NR clone, all going on the same bike. Very stoked to have the proper real derailleur housing as well.

Not in the post, but I picked up three tubular wheels from a local bike buddy. All three had Record hubs (early 80s date codes where I checked), a Wolber Aspin set and a Mavic orphan (rear, 126mm, 6sp fw). The Aspin rear had an 8sp freewheel (Sachs), I assume 130 spacing. I'd never seen such a thing before, though knew they existed. Two or three cogs hang off the end of the body. I wasn't sure my freewheel remover was deep enough to reach, but it did and the fw came right off.

Might the Sachs 8sp fw body be the same as a 7 so I could make something useful out of it? Or should I just sell it to the Museum of Dead End Stuff™?

This didn’t come in the mail it was posted on Marketplace as a come pick it up on the curb for free. I was the first one there. It has the cable lock and just needs to be cleaned up. I ordered a key for $8.00. Not a bad investment I think.

Got this great condition Suntour ratcheting shifters from Jon PLUS some neat bike nip!

Thinking the shifters are bound for the long suffering 85 Raleigh USA build with the cable stops still undecided.

Thanks Greatly, Jon!

Ordered crank arms on March 28 from Spécialités TA in France to replace the Nervar's bought on eBay with an incorrect 175 stamping but a 170 length. Really looking forward to getting back to 175 on a bike I am riding a lot lately. TA was exceptional and found that GLS shipping was held up by Fedex from Covid.

Looks like I am going to be drilling and replacing rivets for this repair, but it will be functional again. I sometimes suspect I work to hard to revive C&V parts, but I hate to just toss them out when they are damaged a bit. Good thing the rivets are still available to me. MH

This is info from Steel Vintage Bikes...

"He started to market his frames under the second brand name Thomas for some years because he thought the name was catchier for people who did not speak Italian. When he realised that this was not necessary at all, Thomas bikes disappeared again and are now a bit of a rarity."

Bought myself a classic 70's Dutch tandem bicycle for just €55.

It's a bit rusty and the rear hub definitely needs some work but it looks like it's going to be a fun project.

P.s. Would this classify as a mixte?

Fantastic and by the "rules" separate top tubes from stem to stern make it a mixte, unless tandems don't follow the"rules".

MRX shifters for my buddy Danny's DiamondBack Apex. I set him up with a taller stem and riser bars last year and now he says the original RapidFires are bugging his tendonitis.
