Thanks. I used the graphics/jersey/embroidery team gugie put together, why buck wisdom and success. Oregon Cyclewear who coordinated with Spectrum for the embroidery. Spectrum has gugie's graphics on file so it was easy for them. I'd say gugie did a great job. Thanks to all three folks.

And just just in time for cool weather and clear, dry pavement. I may even bring "the A team" down from the loft a bit early this year.

Thanks to the keen eye of @RiddleOfSteel halfway across the world I picked up another N+1 Koga-Miyata today.

This time a 1992 Koga-Miyata Traveller in a size 66 for the measly sum of €20 + €25 in fuel.
The shifters aren't working great and the chain skips but other than that it seems in decent condition. I should have plenty of wheels and parts for this to turn into something nice.

I'm thinking of turning this one into a gravel/xBiking bike without fenders but with drop bars and fat tyres.

Not sure what the difference is in frame between my 1993 Koga-Miyata WorldTraveller but I have some time to dig into that one this month.

Today I got a set of blind bore bearing removal tools. after trying to buy them from Snap-On and Mac I found a set from a hot rod parts group in China. They will be useful for replacing damaged cups in Campy hubs. Smiles, MH

Killer DA HS from @deux jambes, not really a huge DA fan but this is cool, pretty vintage and NJS.

AND USB "C" cables for the new Fly 6 and 12, while these are an improvement over the old style directional mini usb cables with less fumbling, they will be a pita regardless now needing 2 different cables across all the electronics.

Got the final bits for the Gazelle Tandem front wheel. So I immediately laced it up and tuned it.

Those Schwalbe AirPlus inner tubes are heavy! But they should be great at holding air for longer which is great for a bike that probably won't be used all that frequently.

Interestingly, the silver B+M IQ-XS comes in a new packaging and is apparently 80 lux. Though their website only mentions 70 lux. Could be a new version that isn't on the website yet.

Panasonic DX1000, came in a beat up box. Luckily all that happened was a spoke got a bit bent, since it was packaged very well. (Local FedEx isn't great)

I received this today from a shop in Portland Oregon. It seems they happened on to some old stock and offered it at half price. The shorts are on the way! Still in the original bag with tags, only a few years old but no discoloring or shelf wear.

You're on the right track!

It's a crown race for a cartridge bearing headset. I have an aftermarket fork on my 716 that is 10mm shorter than the stock fork. I had this custom made to make up the difference.

Today was a good day from the USPS! I got this package that came in a plain brown paper wrapper just like the Playboy mags of yesteryear. The contents were even better than those old magazines. Pics:

The contents: A Record hub shell with damage to the drive side flange. I'm not sure if the out of spec flange shows well in this picture.

The cuts to the drive side flange from having a freewheel removed by brute force to the shell. The damage should show better in this picture.

This hub shell will be the donor for a replacement set of damaged cups in a 40 hole hub that I got off the bay that were mismarked as 36 hole in the sale ad copy. I am going to start a thread on the replacement process and post pictures along the way. This will be fun. Smiles, MH

Not in the post, I teach a furniture-making class along with architectural design studios and 2 of my students gifted me their chairs, here is a picture of one of them....the other will arrive in the next few days.

Yes, for graduate students only, many with very little design experience, so this was an introductory tech course...It has been fun teaching materials, joinery as well as ergonomics....all part of the design process.
The one being delivered in the next few days was made of ply but routered in such a way that it has very gracious curves to it....the ottoman can be seen in the background, quite nice. It is a multi-purpose chair, a regular chair, a rocking chair, and the ottoman fits under the seat.

I agree, too often people dismiss the ability that is needed to "make" things. I often tell those that I work with people will have to fabricate the things made by them on the computer, and that their understanding of materials and joinery are paramount to the success of the end product....too often many forget that all "craft" is truly an "art" and to be respected.
