Nuthin' fancy - just a SR 26.8 seatpost for the latest Univega acquisition. Why does everybody cut their original seatposts so short???

Don't know yet, still trying to hide it from the OH. I'll start another thread when I get it out for it's photoshoot...

Most likely going on the Ellis

I love the Paul components, however the Phil set has clinchers and a freewheel. I plan of making the Ellis a singlespeed with some brakes since it's already drilled.

You've properly prepared yourself for bleeding shins syndrome, correct?

I don't have any bike related tattoos, so figured I'd go the scarification route instead.

So that means you have other tattoos?

My stem arrived today. Hoping I can be less distracted and finish my build soon.

Today I received a "support washer" and a pawl spring so I can rebuild my SturmeyArcher S2C. The only place I could find them was SJ Cycles in the UK, reasonably priced and only 2pound50p to ship.

@colinm - would you consider starting your own thread on this rebuild? I love taking things like that apart, and am not even familiar with that hub. It would be a great learning opportunity. Thanks in advance.

Years ago I bought a suspension seatpost for my trusty old Fuji from Nashbar (or was it Performance - they were distinctly different companies back then) . The elastomer 'puck' that sits in the middle of the 'knee joint' finally crumbled to nothingness this past Spring. Of course that seatpost and replacement pucks are no longer sold. I 'temporarily' substituted an automotive sway bar rubber end link bushing (too soft).

Anyway, I found a source for polyurethane rod, 1" diameter and 12" long. I only need a 1" diameter section 1" long. The 'hardness' I'm trying is 95 durometer (hard).

Anyway, once I get it cut to size and installed, I should be good to go.

I'm so stoked to build them into wheels and ride them (with high-zoot tires!)

Of course, I'm fighting the hoarder's urge to buy extras at $40 each since they're the only 650B rims I know of with that ERD. Gonna try to wait and see how I like them on the bike, first...
