Big Thank You + request help Identifying Vintage Fuji
 

A huge thank you to the Fuji fans out here. I spent weeks reading all of the posts on the 70s/80s Fujis as well as
of course ClassicFuji.com, fuji otaku., Scott Ryder and the list goes on. Time and again I would read about different rider's
love of the 70s + 80s Fujis. Also having been born in 1970 I actually remembered one of my neighbors
riding a Fuji. I searched many many spots garage sales, grandparents of friends and of course online. In the end I realized it was going to
be difficult to find one here in NYC. So I looked on craigslist in connecticut, new jersey etc. Well this past Sunday my search was concluded.
Took the train two hours north to purchase a Fuji Ace! Once back in the city I rode it from Grand Central back to Brooklyn oooooohhh man!
So amazing. As a teacher of furniture and sculpture making I really appreciate this bike. Thanks to all the great research available on the net
I can really really start appreciating this bike. Incredibly happy.

Its a Fuji Ace from the 1970s. Any help on further identifying would be greatly appreciated. What is the opinion on sourcing the original
parts missing (hubs? wheels?). As it is the bike rides amazing.

Rear deraileur says Dura Ace not Crane so Im guessing 1976+ Im out of my depth here.
Brooks pro saddle marked B 78 made in England.
nitto universtade 105 handlebar
Pedals have been changed by last owner to Suntour Superbe
Hubs, rims and tires have been changed by previous owner.
Serial Number stamped on the underside of bottom bracket appears to be F9101 ?

That is a beautiful Ace! Congratulations! I'm still scratching my head wondering how you were
able to find it before I did. :-)
I actually have two Fujis. A Team from 82, and a Finest from 72-73. Your Ace seems to be a great riding bike. Enjoy it, and be proud of it. Congratulations again!

You did very well indeed. I'd be very happy riding that bike. Of course, you'll need to be tearing down the bottom bracket and headset bearings for inspection and regreasing sometime soon. Great bike for you! PG

Your serial number doesn't seem to fit any of the Fuji database info I can find. But, based on your pics, your bike is from 75 or 76. Nice bike!

What a beautiful Fuji "The Ace" bike you scored. Just go through all the bearings for clean and grease, do the cables and what may need replacing in consumables and ride the thing forever. Even the tyres look nice and fresh.
