Centurion Lemans with 7 speeds

Centurion Lemans with 7 speeds
I got one last night. Has Campagnolo wheels, Biopace cranks, Shimano SLR brake levers and No hoods, 600 Derailleurs, the rear seems good, the front seems rusted, The frame seems to have been retouched with white paint and the purple fade area, hides some rust by the seat stay and chain stay area. It is a Tange 2 frame with Cro-moly fork. Also the serial number says F5xxxxxx, can't remember the last numbers, need to check again when i get home tonight.
Debating whether I should keep it or flip it.
If keeping it I really just want the frame, but what can i do to get rid of the rust and repaint?
Am I able to source the Centurion Sticker on the downtube?
If i paint it i want to change the color from the White with purple fade to a Shiny Red, or Matte Black color.
What are your suggestions.

Sounds like someone has been at it already, with the mismatched parts. Doesn't matter, excellent all-around frameset, use whatever parts work.
The 7-sp model came as both the Lemans and the Lemans RS with the smoked purple fade (aka Purple Haze).
The group was Light Action and had white vinyl-tipped shifters, white accents on the FD and RD. Wheels should have been bronze Araya's. The Tange 2 frame was 87-89, but '89 got the unicrown fork.
Not always worth the cost of a repaint, but a media blast and powder-coat could be affordable depending on your location. Here, it's about $75, but I generally strip first with aircraft stripper from Walmart just to be on the safe side.
Choose whatever color you want, and then choose decals.
The DT decals in that style are available from VeloCals, in either a white or black lettering.
The top tube decals are NOT available that I know of, anywhere, but the VeloCals kit comes with other graphics you can put on there. The kit includes small "Centurion" decals (miniatures of the DT decals) for the seat stays, and an optional set of the "squiggle" graphics in the same size, which could be suitable for the top tube.
You can clearcoat over the decals, using hobby clear or an $8 can of Duplicolor from an auto parts store. If you have the frame and decals only, you can clear the entire frame, which works pretty well and protects the decals. Given the durability of powder coat and the decals, however, clear coat is not required. JR likes to offer his 1ml thick vinyl over the decals, but I prefer to leave that off.

about that blast and paint, what does that mean? do they strip off the paint? I don't mind they strip off the paint, as long as the final result is good and i can put the decals back on.

so for powder coating, do i still need to remove the rust or they just do it over the old paint? I guess I will find out someone who does it, what kind of shop do i need to look for, for this type of work?

over here, there is one for $100, I guess if i can find one below $100, i might just keep the frame and fork and do it. and try to reuse some of the components like the handlebar and replace the rest.

Just found another place for $60, sand blast and powder coat.
I think i am keeping the frame now. What color is the BMC team's bikes, planning on doing a similar color to that.
any suggestions?

Part of the powdercoating process involves media blasting to remove the old finish and corrosion. I would look for a shop that specializes in motorcycles and has a portfolio of custom work or a shop where they get all excited about your project and know what to mask and so forth.

I did verify that I have the Campagnolo Gamma wheelset. they are bronze in color, I am planning on replacing them with another wheelset, how much can I sell them for? I probably would sell the wheelset together with the 7 speed freewheel in one deal.

You have a lot going on, so don't get ahead of yourself, or you'll be playing catch-up, and that's expensive.
On the frame, $60 is not out of line at all. The blasting should get rid of the corrosion, but it's not the blaster's frame, so he/she doesn't really care. I buy a $6 can of aircraft stripper at Walmart and a pack of green pads and strip it myself. This gets most of the paint off, anyway, and gives the blaster the "ease" to tackle the rough spots and not just blast "most" of the paint away. If this is what you plan to do, go ahead and order the decals now. I have no idea about the BMC colors; they change each year.
Once the frame is committed, then you can go ahead and make decisions on the drivetrain. Not sure what shape the wheels are in, or what hubs. I'm assuming they're Shimano hubs laced to Campy Gamma rims. Odd mix, but I've seen it before. Figure you can get some decent newer wheels for $100-$175, but I have no idea if you're going to stay with 7-sp or move up, so it doesn't really matter at this point.
I suggest you STOP.

Have a plan. That plan needs to address your choices.
Decide what you want.
Don't let us decide for you; we're not that smart.

As for riding, i plan to cold set the frame so I can put 11-28 cassette with 10 speeds, i do a lot of hill climbing, but i am also in flat areas and i like to ride fast.
I have already decided to get Ultegra RD with a Dura Ace 10 speed DT shifters, i think they are 7900. I have ordered a set of black cable housing, also a set of black wellgo pedals with chrome toe clips and black leather straps. Thinking to get a 50/34 FSA Vero Crank for it too.
What is your opinion on selling the rims with the hubs, what can i get for them?
I am also planning to part out the Biopace crank, is there any demand for it?

They are very reasonable, look great, shift precisely and quickly (which you'll have to get used to) and you can downshift multiple gears at once. When I build my last Ironman, it will be 10-sp with the DA DT shifters. If Shimano would bring back 9-sp DT shifters, I think they'd sell a ton.
